Ummm...this is an old poem of mine...I wrote this when I was a teen...a long time ago...

Come tomorrow

Mountains we have leveled to the ground
Lifted peaks where fish used to abound

Far run the roads we built on migrant pain
To think we live as on an asphalt plain

Alas when buildings run from shore to shore
No doubt we’ll find the room to place some more

Ponce de Leon searched oh so hard for youth
Yet in his fountains glade to tell the truth

There where that geriatric water used to fall
Lies now a parking lot beside the mall

Search not for things that now so bittersweet
For now the meadowlands beneath the street

Yes when you seek the wild beasts you’ll see
How tamed the starving rat the fattened flea

Cry not for neon lights in Eldorado
Too late you didn’t heed my simple motto

Plant a tree if one you must cut down
Build your houses not up but underground
While saving vastly on resource and heat
Nature would not fall to obsolete

Thus spoke the young idealist...

Good one.

A sad but salient truth was expressed in your poem. Young idealists are good at that. But as you get older, you'll notice that's about all they're good at.

Cheers

Ummm...too true...I just wanted to add...I'm very glad to see you back here again...you've been missed...

You have an excellent mind...ATS would be such a dull place without your contributions...

Damn glad your back...

Be well my friend...
