In this case, it generally happens when you land and one brake decides it's not going to work, and you end up spinning in a circle.

Well I won't question your answer as you are man of much knowledge but on the page I was on, the aircraft in question, the pilot couldn't jettison it landing shoot which lead to it running off the runway at Edwards

They had several landing incidents to choose from. It began life as a Super Sabre which was a royal pain in the ass.

Just realised in the link for the pic it has its designated number (for example the Nighthawk was F-117) painted on the fuselage so there goes my trivia question

Correct and they used big fans mounted in the roof to keep the air moving so the rain clouds wouldn't form any more.

Looks like the MAD gear I'd see on SH-2F when they flew around my FFG. So if that's it it's for Sub hunting
