Both Obama and Hillary were at work in at least 2007 trying to get ammunition defined as 'explosives'... this would have forced the gun shops to retrofit their storage facilities to safely hold high-potential explosives if they wanted to sell bullets, while at the same time bringing tons of regulations on individual citizens who packed their own munitions.

The fact that it didn't work (and that most people don't know about it) tells us how much of a dead-end path that was.

After having read the thread through I am forced to come to the conclusion that some people WANT to own guns designed specifically to kill people so that they can kill people.

Glad I don't live in that #ed-up country.

I live in Australia where we implemented common-sense gun laws (note: NOT a full ban as some bull# artists would like to claim) and haven't had a single mass shooting since. Funnily enough I don't fear walking out my front door and getting mugged/raped/shot because it simply doesn't happen here at the high frequency it does over there.

Anyway I'm glad I live safe and sound in Australia NOT fearing those things you listed. I'm even gladder I don't live in a country full of psychopaths who want to shoot everything that moves because they "feared for their safety".

This is always how they start it. A small benign gesture to remove our guns, while THEY sacrifice nothing in return. I am guessing that he is talking about removing (those weapons that we just have lying around, doing nothing) from the hands of the LAW ABIDING citizen? Criminals don't care about bans and laws, so in the end....who is it that will be hunted, and what weapon will they choose, after the government renders us as "sitting ducks"? Won't be getting my vote.

You must have missed the part where I implied (perhaps I should have specifically stated) that we still have guns in Australia and I could go shooting if I wished - in fact I live on a farm now and have been meaning to get my gun license. Sorry to burst your little bubble that we don't have guns whatsoever down here. We just have common-sense laws as to the types of guns and the fact we need to pass a safety test. Laws that have also prevented mass shootings and reduced gun crime dramatically.

I think every Australian should own any kind of weapon so weapon of your choosing should be your God-given right to resolve our you want against people that are unwilling that come after you. The only places all traveling the world or do you want to places where I can have my pistol on my side 24 seven if not I don't go there.
