Something I don't understand... I hope someone with some insight into can assist here.
I imagine the Big Bang as a point, but spherical explosion.
So... from that point on, isn't the universe spherically shaped? I mean, the matter isn't just going outwards in a flat(ish) plane is it?
The same question I'd ask about the Milky Way, because everytime I see artist renditions and guestimates based on what we can photograph from Earth,
it is always depicted as a flat(ish) construct?
