The only reason that he has appeal with them is not due to Trump being a racist. Its like saying all democrats are communist because some of their interest and ideas overlap. White NATIONALIST like candidates that have a nationalist platform. You can be a nationalist and not be a racist. They want strong borders, controlled immigration, they want pro US economic and foreign policies. If you put your family first before others does that mean you hate everyone else? Of course not.

Chew this over thread participants.

The year of ‘enormous rage’: Number of hate groups rose by 14 percent in 2015

For the first time in five years, the number of hate groups in the United States rose in 2015, according to a new report from the Southern Poverty Law Center, a legal and advocacy organization known among other things for monitoring extremist activity. The number of such groups spiked 14 percent in 2015, a year characterized by levels of polarization and anger perhaps unmatched since the political turmoil of 1968, the center said in the report on hate and extremism released exclusively to The Washington Post on Wednesday.

This isn't a one sided issue there is much more at play here. Its not Trump that has facilitated this. Black Lives Matters was rising before the presidential race and have skewed the numbers in the article (which the article explains). Trumps hand in this is he has opened up political discourse to issues that were previously "PC" and so people are more comfortable discussing the issues.

ETA: The most interesting thing is that before BLM and the Confederate flag issue we were at a low point. Seems contrived.

I honestly don't know how valid a wall is in terms of numbers and such but as a symbol it would speak volumes. The open door policy being shut to the third world. Its a sign of retaking sovereignty from internationalist.

The open door policy being shut to the third world.

Building walls is symbolic alright. Big agro and livestock companies depend almost soley on their slave wages, lack of enforcement, not paying W2 or decent living wage.

Watch what happens to wages in EU now that the refugees have arrived.

You're not stereotyping all conservatives as white and racist are you?

"Black people kill more black people every six months than the KKK did in 86 years," Allen West, a black man.

You're not putting words in other peoples' mouths are you?

Americans killed 1000x as many Americans last year as ISIS did. White Americans killed more Americans than ISIS did last year. White Christian Americans killed more Americans last year than ISIS did.

Do those facts make ISIS any less horrible? Of course not and you wouldn't even think to say something irrelevant and nonsensical like that. Maybe you should worry more about what you're thinking than trying to guess what I am?
