So if your neighbor walks up to you and point a gun to your head and tells you to sell him your car for a Dollar that is a 'Legal Purchase' .... ooops forgot the fact that he was banging your w__e...

Nobody forced anything, they sold the land to us. Sorry if the facts bother you so much, but reality is reality. There is no need to come unhinged over a simple discussion, so calm down and get a grip guy. ~$heopleNation

They actually offered us Baja California for 1 million back in 1848, but we declined. Foolish mistake, a lot of beautiful beach front property down there. ~$heopleNation

There are very large spanish communities, why would one venture out of there if there was no reason to? I know people who live in China town who don't speak English and who have never really left that area. Doesn't make them any less Canadian by my standards.

It makes them less Canadian by your government's standards. Canada, unlike the US, has an official language. 2 actually, French and English. You are required to speak one in order to become Canadian.

The United States won that land in a WAR. Fair and square. Like it, or leave it.

Some people would say that Mexicans are Americans. But either way, what is the US biggest impact in Mexico? The drug war? How is that treating them in Mexico? Of course the US is no longer capitalist, so the US will no longer offer Mexico opportunities either.

US history from Mexico perspective:
1. Killed native Americans.
2. Started moving into Mexico until population grew too dense to continue invasion.
3. Started drug wars and CIA black ops wars that continue to today.

I would say there are plenty of reasons not to like the US population, as they did support killing the native Americans, did support the offensive invasion of Mexico designed to take their land, and the US population does support to this day, the drug wars. Are black is Mississippi protesting the Obama drug wars? No, they support them. So, there is your answer.

And you say YOU didn't take part in taking Mexico. But that isn't your post. You are posting as the COLLECTIVE WE, identifying as a US citizen. I personally wouldn't do that, but if I did, I would have to own up to all of the dirty deeds of the collective. Unless someone said "sorry for that mistake" on behalf of the collective, then it still harbors guilt.

Did the US ever come out and say "slavery was wrong"? Did the US ever come out and say the invasion of Mexico and conquest of their land was wrong? Then, its their policy to this day. Mexico as a government is just as bad, so I imagine Mexicans are not fond of their own government either.

I'll end by saying that if no white man ever visited North America, the natives would be appearing to live much more healthy lives. Native Americans were well known for their incredible health. They were not without their problems, but they generally lived very well. They lived long and healthy lives. Until the invaders started destroying them. But of course it is their own socialism that is responsible for their downfall in the modern day... and the US population is all for that these days, especially if you look at the popular support for Bernie Sanders.

I'm not sure the description "fair and square" is applicable to war.

There was a Mexican actress on a talk show the other night, and she mentioned her family, although Mexican, had been Americans since the late 1600's. The host asked "oh, so your ancestors just moved across the border?"

And she said "No. The border moved over us".

That's a personal choice.

It's funny because I live in LA and many of my best friends have been Mexicans.

I also go to Mexico and I find that people like me more because I am American. They are very interested in our culture, or music, food and our films.

I do think that Mexican transplants are prone to stick together at times, but the same can be said of any immigrant population.

Wasn't trying to prove anything. Just part of our good ole American history. I thought it was funny. Not necessarily haha funny. Don't know why you're being so hostile about it.

This is a terrible example. No land was stolen from anyone. The people who were living in that territory were in Mexico before, and then they were living in America after Mexico surrendered. No one was forced off their property.

I go to a local Farmers market every month, I met a Mexican woman there who has a stand, she proceeded to tell me all the plants to eat that will help lower blood pressure, and was very knowledgeable. She was kind and even gave me some stuff free to help with my hypertension. I have met a lot of Mexican people who are kind, with a good sense of humor, and warm. Sure there are some bad apples in every group, but it doesn't make everyone in that group bad. I think the bad people tend to stick in our minds more and it overshadows seeing the good. Went to Mexico several times and met the same kind funny people. We find what we are looking to see. If you look for bad its all you're going to see. Start trying to look for the good in people and you may see more of it.

Pretty much the situation. I live in this area. From native studies, Yes, this is their ancestral abode.

Genetically and otherwise, it makes sense.

That said, I e witnessed the cultural battle first hand and it us ugly.

I'm just playing the stereotype some people have for Mexicans, for example you assume i would be taking a low income job after traveling illegally, when i could perfectly get a job offer in my profession, the one i got a PhD.

Hardly racist remark, i cannot see how a white man can be racist towards whites, oh right Latinos are a race, not a origin, so we all must be dark skinned.

You people should examine your racist mentality, in the cartoon of myself i painted in this thread i only wanted to show how for some of you we are all illegal Mexicans, despite not being Mexican or even suggesting foul play in the immigration

Congrats you failed

No I didnt say you would be doing a low skilled job. I will specifically mention you if i mean you comprende? In general most mexicans work low skilled jobs most will not work its a statistic not a assumption. ANd there is actually only one race but your statement sounded like it was a racist one is all i was saying.

ALso its only failing IF i didnt engage you and not even try. More dirty tricks to make yourself seem superior is really low. As to legal resident. familys been here since before 1816 so...NOPE on that front. People that were here even after the border change were not forced off their lands and continued their lives as before

Oh and one more thing..its not wise to piss someone off who can have you investigated. Lucky for you im not that spiteful.

our country will also one day be taken over. times change, borders change, powers change. I do believe that the u.s will eventually be majority non white, same with Europe.
