This rants really about the labour party post 1997.

A lot of people bemoan the current government.
To be honnest cant blame them as they are bumbling about likes fools.

BUT

What I dont get is those harping on about how good labour is.

Sorry but labour was is power from 1997-2010 what exactly did it accomplish?

It inherited a surpluss and wasted trillions of pounds and what exactly did we see?what did the UK get for all that debt?

NHS continued its decline (my local hospitals went down hill in labours reign)
The road and train systems were left with little to no development.
We got a billion pound tent in Greenwich
We got two wars
Ignored the power grid so we are now in a energy crisis.
Let the UK school system crumble into a pit of mediocrity
Signed a bunch of EU treatys many of us now want out of.
Nurtured a welfare underclass.
Oversaw a catatrophic houseing crisis.

So what exactly did they do that can justify the above?

Labour does nothing and bugger all but expensively
The torys do nothing and bugger all on the cheap.

Far as I can see the Torys are better value for money. Might do bugger all for the people but at least they spend less money doing it!

Sold the gold

Buggered the House of Lords

Ennobled a right shower of corrupt, vain, egotistic second rate slimeballs

Enriched themselves by dubious means

Spinned out of control

Threw open the doors and threw away the key

Got away with it

Finally convinced me that some people actually deserve to be strung up

O I forgot the giant ferris wheel to go with the giant circus tent!

Maybe if labour get into power again they can build a government funded rollercoster too?

The minimum wage.
The freedom of information act.

Plunged us into the darkness of an unending war.

Yes as seeing as they are paltry compared to the two wars blair gave us, the housing crisis, the engery crisis and the extra teachers didnt stop our education system sinking down hill each year did it?

So yes after all rhe money they pissed away and the debt they stuck us in I expect more than a sporting event, a few token publuc service gestures and a hunting ban!

Minimum wage is basically one important thing.

One thing to stack up against :

2 wars.
Infrastructure crisis
Housing crisis
Failing Education
Banking crisis.
Declineing NHS

I did read it thank you.

The education system didn't come to a halt in 2010 don't you know.

I think it's annoyed you that people have come back with things Labour did achieve which has taken you by surprise.

Education standards have been tinkered with since the 1970's. There used to be dozens of different A-level exam boards across England. Now everything is set by the national curriculum. They introduced a scheme where you could choose how difficult you wanted your exam paper (foundation, general or credit). Then you would get your grade. Employers wouldn't look at anyone with a Foundation grade.

Not really.

Only thing of real note is the minimum wage.

The rest? Just petty tokens thats didnt exactly do much for the money spent or to make up for the fact oou infrastructure was left in disrepair, our energy requirements barely meet, 2 wars and a houseing crisis.

But wow weee we had the Olympics thats makes up for all of that!......not.
