Well, one good thing is that some of the large anger against this, came from the real Muslim immigrants who years ago fled the oppression of such unjust countries and sought safety here.

And the mayor was answering them (paraphrased) " I can't tell people what to wear." like a complete idiot who is not representing a Canadian city, with Charter of Rights and Constitution that expresses substantive equality.

Uphold our constitution, and ban this, because its oppressive and offends me beyond belief, its psychologically damaging for any of my boys to see or witness as well!

Do you think they will also have a 'Sex Through a Sheet Day' so people can know what it feels like to be a Hasidic Jew?

Conservative Muslims do that too so it's a multicultural experience.

Oil is covered by Earth, treasure is guarded in vaults...

And a Muslim women's beauty is veiled by a Hijab.

Don't hate. Appreciate.

Nah. I would consider telling women what they can and can't wear part of the needed Reformation process. Not all Muslims women cover themselves. Thats progress.

Hehe.

Men are required to dress modestly too, it's not gender specific.

I know they don't, my ex doesn't cover herself either.

It's a choice thing, unless you live in Saudi Arabia.

I bet they never pass a blunt day so we can all experience what it's like to be a Rastafarian.

April 20th. Every year

I too though have never heard of hijab day. And I watch the news a lot. Today is actually "pink shirt" day to raise awareness about bullying.
I did hear that a couple of days ago, about 200 Syrian immigrants went through the Saskatoon mall handing out flowers to say thank you for their new home.
Nothing about hijabs though.

Why do you care so much what other people do and wear?

Oh please. Why do the people that are pushing this "hijab day" nonsense care so much about what people wear?

Why does beauty need to be veiled?

You got me. I wasn't pushing it either. I could care less what you wear.

If a woman chooses to veil her beauty it's none of your business.

Simple.

I didn't say you are pushing it.

My point is that people are obviously pushing their hijab nonsense on other people.

The OP pointed out the hypocrisy, to which you replied "why do you care what other people wear".

You should ask the people pushing this hijab day stuff. Why do they care what other people wear?

That is not what I asked.

I asked you why beauty should be veiled. Also, they way you formulated your post implied that you feel that this is a given, that goes without saying.

I didn't imply anything.

& I don't care what you asked because it was a loaded gotcha question as well as a Strawman.

Well I can't ask them. They aren't in the thread. The OP was though, so I asked him. Though if it makes you happy I'll let that question extend to everyone.
