Thanks for putting up with my crap guys. This has nothing to do with the usual conspiracy stuff I just need to vent and this is gonna be my outlet.
So I have a job where all i do is send emails. Well it's not ALL I do, but that's the main task.
I got a huge 10 project mega project dumped on me that I've been working on since the start of the year. I've sent out close to 8 thousand emails
since January just for this main project..... I've put in hella over-time most of that OT being the last 2 weeks.
My boss called me into his office today to regretfully inform me that since Presidents Day was a Holiday, I'm going to of course get paid for 40
hours, but it means I only worked 32 normal hours..... and in order to get paid OT pay for the OT, I have to have WORKED 40 hours, not get paid for 40
hours. This is because i'm non-union and I'm technically a manager position, even though I don't manage anyone....so this is the first time with any
job i've ever been in this kind of a predicament. So the holiday has officially screwed me out of a lot of overtime pay.....
and I came in on every
off day I had for those two weeks just to bust my ass to impress upper management, get every thing done on time, and get extra money for my rent.
I'm basically...... dead inside today.
He asked me to remind him if he asks me to come and work OT on a week with a Holiday that he'd be screwing me again.... but of course that's just not
me. I can't tell my boss no, he'd only ask if it was necessary to complete something on time, and I'm the only person who does this particular job, so
of course I would never leave them hanging, even if it means I take the hit on my paycheck.
I need this job for the health benefits and rent
So.... help me see the bright side here, if there even is one. At least I got some street cred with my boss? I suppose that's worth something.
I hope everyone else is having a better time financially than I seem to be at the moment.
If you read all of this, thanks for taking time out of your day to think of me and my somewhat small issues.
