So, seems deserted island is island where someone was before one gets there. So ur game happens more interesting now - we got island where's may be or may not we found a lot of items, because this is deserted a long time ago. Right?

1) Raft: Need to fish, explore or try to find another island or try to find shipping routes nearest. Also can be use as shelter.

2) Knife: You know why!

3) Pot: There's no guarantee of fresh water supply on island and no Reverse osmosis opinion is given.

4) Fishing rod: The island might not have food source but ocean sure does.

It also depends on how knowledgeable are you on survival on open water or islands. How to make sure you come out alive, A Survivor!

I was tempted for the vollyball,just in case the swedish womens volleyball team washed up,but there were no condoms listed either...

1. Knife

2. Tarp

3. Hand saw

4. Rope

Normally I would have put the water purifier in there, but given the OP criteria of a 'deserted island' (implying seawater) a water purifier would be of little use.

Also, pot vs. handsaw is a tough choice. Tarp and knife are absolutes.
