I know, so many subgenres. The best, in my opinion, being death, thrash and black metal (NSBM and topic of anti-human mostly such as Black Altar) and some gothic;symphonic/death-doom. Love them all, so long they are not modern though there are rare exceptions.

I can't keep up with all the genres. I always chuckle at the singers who sound like cookie monster. LOL

Oh, someone mentioned Metallica! Yay!

Isn't heavy metal it's own subgenre? Meh, honestly Metallica is overrated in my opinion. Time to time sure, but overall not much of a fan. Hmm, this is a great song.

Won't be posting anything heavy

Back when they sang because they wanted to, they were amazing. When they became corporate bitches, they started down the long dark hallway of "you suck".

We were talking about metal not Limp Bizkit..
But yes you're right, at best they can be considered a hard rock band now.

It is now. At one time we had rock, hard rock, soft rock, heavy metal...Heavy metal was heavy metal then branched out into different genres.

I enjoyed your vid!

That's true. Well I suggest checking out other songs from that album (three are in Polish, but two of them, Dark Beauty and Dark Poem, are beautiful and if you'd like I will gladly translate
). I've only listened to this album, Darkside, and Nocturn which is notably heavier. The music of the video posted though, ah love it. Heredity is another great song of the album...which sorry for the videos, but so beautiful.

And this; Dark Poem. No more, I promise!

In the shoulders of death,
I run.

There is magic in them,
and beauty,
I follow the road.

I am close.

I see with her eyes..
I desire.

I see with her eyes..
I touch.

I see with her eyes..
I desire.

I see with her eyes..
I breathe.

Born from her body,
In the pursuit of blood.

Born from her body,
In the pursuit of dreams.
Behold the majesty of Sin.
Which never
will you see
will you understand..

Maybe not perfect, but should be largely correct.

We're actually in an era where you can re-create most any era you want to live in.

Personally? Any era where there is toilet paper.

My instinct is to reply that I would love to return to the mid to late 80's.

Then I realize that I can't actually remember much of what happened in the mid to late 80's. Judging by the all of the scars and paternity suits I assume they were good though.

That was amazing! Thanks. But now I can't get that sound out of my head.

Plus, there's a part in the middle where he sounds like Yoda.

Now, I've got images of Yoda rapping that cookie monster song.

Can't get that image out of my head either.

(Sorry, Yoda)

The middle to late 80s would be my pick. Things got really serious after that.

Sighhhh....I would love to go back in time to the early 80's...I miss the music videos and the clothing and the day glow colors of the time...I miss the posters and the prism like reflective stickers that were on everybody's book covers and bikes...most of all I miss how much fun I had as a child and how lucky I am to have had two good parents who provided as much as they could...such good times...

Personally I'd say mid/late 80's or early 90's... just fun times.

As for any time in history, there are just too many.

Jurassic era... middle ages (Anglo Saxon period) ... Egyptians (18th Dynasty)...roaring 20's in France...woodstock in the 60's...

I'd like to pick a time and see the people who painted some of the oldest cave art and some of the weirdest and most "alien" looking, just to see what imspired them and what they saw.

If I could teleport and travel to a place outside of earth... I'd like to be there on July 24, 1969 when Armstrong climed out onto the moon... and just be there chillin on a rock and wave at him.

And there you have the #1 reason we all want to go back.

(It sure as hell isn't for the Thompson Twins)

All known eras of humanity have been squandered. We are evil & must be eradicated.

I was born in the late 50's. I loved the 70's and every decade thereafter. I wouldn't choose to return to any of them, even if I could be armed with the knowledge I have now.

I have wondered before if I might be better suited for the 1700 or 1800s. What I realize is that there is still enough open range for a person who longs for an age they didn't live in to recreate. I have no desire to recreate a lost time.

In the 70's there was wonder of discovery and music and adventure. There was also fear and oppression and rampant racism. The later is what has convinced me that I wouldn't want to return to an earlier time. Racism only gets better with age and increasing knowledge. I hope to see a time before mine is done where people aren't judged for the color of their skin. THAT will be the age in which I want to live.
