This story is all over the Russian news media today, with this video:

www.youtube.com...=0

Looks to me like a sophisticated image of the STS-88 'Black Night' shots overlain on routine space docking video, but it's very well done.

That music made my brain hurt.
That music made me think this is totally not real.

Need a stiff drink and a nap after having my auditory senses assaulted like that.

Edit: did the Russian media play that jam with the footage as well, Jim?

Love the fact it was you to post this, may not have watched the video otherwise. Pretty remarkable footage if you ask me. It appeared the object was detected and than zoomed in on from the station. I don't know what recording equipment is up there to venture a guess.

Also, looks a lot more like a natural formation than I remember seeing in the past. Thanks for sharing.

Did you have your device on mute?
Because any credible footage of the black knight would not be accompanied by horrible '80's synth/edm fusion crap beat for ambience.

You would think such stellar video would have commentary on just what we are looking at and from what perspective we are viewing said object.

Fitting that you would use the word stellar in your reply as the music is a version of the main theme tune to the film interstellar, by Hans Zimmer. (In my opinion the best film music composer of our times)

This Black Knight looks like the inner sole from a trainer.

Just to clear things up - the "Black Knight" is a thermal blanket which came loose. Case Closed.

I'm embarrassed I never found Jim's work before, even being right in front of my nose.

I should have looked at the video closer when I first saw it, my bad.

I know I can/should do better.

Thanks for the kind words all around.

Watch the skies.

My only excuse is my gaze was fixated on the North Korean phony-sat.

no sir....one see where the cgi man was pushing the black knight with his finger......as far as heading moments....in the last thread I labeled such fakery as " ratchety " movement in the axis that makes it's headway direction,

there is the ratchety spinning too.......now and then, but the apparent direction of movement

i think its space junk and the reason why is when on the video they zoomed on to it it was all blurred which i found a bit strange as i fort that the cameras on the iss station whould have a lot better focus zoom ie more of a clear picture once it zoomed in on the object ... you have people from earth that can zoom in better then that and have a more of a clear picture .

"Horrible '80's synth/edm fusion crap beat"??? Maybe where we come from. In Russia, however, that is brand-new, cutting edge, all-the-rage, pull on your Levis and get funky, top-level musicianship!
