If Govt isn't corrupt, than the issue of corrupt business is pretty much a non issue as the free market would take care of it.

The sole issue is corrupt Govt. Yet a few people cry out for more Govt because life isn't fair. Completely moronic.

Please show an example of any modern nation using a free market successfully.

Show me a free market, and I'll show you a slave market. The law of the jungle is emphatically not freedom for anyone but the strongest. Same goes for the law of the free market.

en.m.wikipedia.org...

There has never been such a system of laissez faire (free Market)

Yeah yeah yeah...feel the Bern....life isn't fair....same BS pitched.

Life isn't fair. There are no guarantees. The US during its creation has as close to a free market as anything. Yet, the Progressive mindset had to go and dick with it because of "fairness".

Govt determining winners and losers isn't fair either.

Only 16% of Bernie supporters understand that the true definition of socialism is government owned means of production, not just a "generous social safety net" which is what a lot of them think it means (free stuff).

Wrong. Again.

The plan is NOT for govt to own the means of production.
Stop saying that - it's ignorant nonsense.

Wait, you mean Bernie isn't a Marxist Socialist?
Why, it's almost like his supporters already knew that and all the people suggesting it don't know what they're talking about.
What's this? He's been telling everyone exactly what he wanted to do all along, and they should learn to read and/or listen to things that don't forget their pre-built ideas? I think that's an excellent suggestion.

If nothing else, the popularity of both Bernie and Trump show the same thing....

Americans are fed up with the status quo and politics as usual.

In addition, Bernie has at least done something previous candidates have failed to do...get the millennials interested in politics! Unfortunately, his fanbase largely lacks the life experience to understand the eventual impact of "free stuff", but at least it perked up their ears.

What does amaze me though, is the millennials' preoccupation with DEAD issues like abortion, gay marriage, and even discrimination. These have been DECIDED already right up to the Supreme Court, so no reall need for these issues to play into it this election. Simply amazing. (especially since the outcome is pretty much what they desire).

As mentioned in the OP though, there is ZERO chance of Bern getting the nod. The DNC practice of super delegates will see to that, no matter how many states he'd win by popular vote in the primary. Democrats can thank their own party for that (as the GOP doesn't use it)....

I used to think the GOP nominee wouldn't even be a factor. None of them are going to beat Hillary in the election (as much as that pains me). Hillary is a liar at best, a murderer most likely, and has a PROVEN bad track record in foreign policy debacles. She could probably shoot someone in the face at a debate and STILL get elected.

But, Trump is doing far better than I would have guessed. I figured he wouldn't make it past the third primary, initially, but obviously, people are more fed up than I had even hoped. The only good news, is that the powers that be do NOT want Trump in the White House. The press (bought and paid for by the establishment) has done nothing but try to assassinate him since he started running. But, in their efforts, they only gave him more free press and reinforced support. Oops. He has some good ideas, but it's a hell of a gambit. His rhetoric polarizes audiences and voters, but if elected, it would largely depend on WHO was in charge of various policies, and whether or not he could actually move things through a bought and paid for Congress. Ironically, the same challenge Bernie would have....

Senator Sanders is a classic FDR and Kennedy liberal, not a Marxist revolutionary.

Be assured: Marxist revolutionaries never, ever fail to tell people all about themselves.

Actually, corrupt government isn't the sole issue. The issue for Sanders supporters is a corrupted economic system which owns the government and sustains itself at the expense of regular people. And in this measure, it is government which has the potential power to alleviate and fight this.

The free market and it's supplemental legend is about as viable and realistic as communist utopia.

The entities that comprise the market regularly and consistently use money to manipulate law and policies via politicians.

The main corruptor of government and politicians is business/money/profit

The point isn't that life isn't fair, the point is that freedom has been subverted and the game of freedom has been rigged.

You can sit out your hands and take it in the eye, but don't expect all of us to do the same.

So I state again, the solution to fixing a corrupt Govt is to go against the Constitution and have that same corrupt Govt correct itself.

Look, I know you strongly believe in the theory of the Free Market and it's ability to be self correcting and/or self regulating. We've talked about this before.

It sounds really good in theory, like most theories. However none of them ever work out like they do in theory. The reality is that all of our systems and theories we've ever come up with never work out in practice the way they do on paper. Some are closer than others but not one of the self-correcting theories ever actually work out that way.

Let's face it. Regardless of how intelligent the theory is there are always those who are just as intelligent thinking of ways to corrupt it. It's not even the fault of the theory itself. I have no doubt that Free Market Capitalism as it is in theory would work great if everyone actually wanted it to. So would Socialism or even Communism if that's what people were wanting to work. But not everyone does want a working system so there will always be those who screw it up on purpose. Free Market Capitalism isn't immune to that. It's not shielded from those who want to corrupt it's process.

Until you can stop people from intentionally breaking down and corrupting these systems they will never be able to self correct or self regulate. The only self regulating system we know of is Nature itself and we didn't come up with that one. All our stuff breaks after a while either naturally or intentionally and I see no escape from that reality any time soon.

Free Market is about as close to "nature" as it gets and is self correcting.

Things and people will get screwed, that happens.

Free Market has the opportunity to allow corrections.
