I don't think so. You're the one positing that we're trying to usurp the constitution. Please do explain how are we doing that? Or were you just pulling that from a dark and stinky place?

Annnnnnndd you won't answer yet another question.

Do you have any more gushing love statements about Bernout that you wish to tell us about?

So does that mean you're not familiar with any of his policies and plans and ideas then? You just heard the word socialist and reacted as your programming says you must? We've been talking about one for 11 pages.

*smirks* but enjoy your lofty high ground where I wouldn't spoon feed you information you already know because you can't come up with a coherent argument that we're trying to usurp the constitution. Because we're not.

Oh good hell.

You like compassion in the form of Govt taking from some and giving to others. I have compassion in my own form.

There is the difference, you need someone, a Govt authority, to make these decisions for you. Thus, you want others to have the same. But, not so much force as to take from you the same percent as those that you deem as having too much.

And this has little to do with the self-sufficient straw-man argument you pitch.

This has to do with what I stated above.

An Army of one....interesting.

Guess I will never see such greatness *sigh*, but I guess military life isn't for me.......

You do find the irony in military members taking care of each other, as in brothers and not expecting outsiders to pitch in or even understand.

again you miss a greater point.

The government already takes your money and spends it on invaded Iraq, bombing pakistan, subsidizing big corporations. I'd like some of my tax money to go to education, healthcare and other benefits instead of the pentagon, nsa, Irs, homeland security etc.

Maybe that's our difference. You'd rather subsidize monsanto, shell and nevada power and bombing children in Pakistan. Id rather it be spent right here at home on us regular people.

Good afternoon ATSers

I've been reading a lot of post about confusion over why so many American's like Bernie. Really I don't understand why this is so hard to understand. It's as easy as taking a look at every other candidate, whether Dem or GOP. EVERY single POTUS candidate is a lying, oxygen stealing, bought and paid for puppet; people are getting sick of it.
...

What makes you think that "Sanders is not lying, and is a bought and paid puppet"?...

Socialism is what the elites want to impose, and Sanders is a globalist puppet who simply claims he is here for the people.

Americans, and people around the world have been indoctrinated into believing socialism is the answer... And then these same people claim that "there was a never a socialist/communist conspiracy"... Really? look at the world today...

Venezuela is the latest country to have embraced socialism and look what is happening there...

No?.. Really?... Here is proof that your loved idol Darth Vader, i mean Sanders" does want to "usurpt the Constitution"...

Starting at 40 seconds he states he wants to ban all weapons except hunting rifles, and then states that all weapons that kill people should not be sold in the United States, which means he wants to ban all weapons denying Americans their Second Amendment right... This of course includes the right of Americans to defend themselves against criminals, which Sanders wants to abolish.

Then there is the fact that he has stated if he becomes President he will give himself the power to nominate who controls the Fed...

Bernie Sanders: To Rein In Wall Street, Fix the Fed

By BERNIE SANDERS DEC. 23, 2015
...
If I were elected president, the foxes would no longer guard the henhouse. To ensure the safety and soundness of our banking system, we need to fundamentally restructure the Fed’s governance system to eliminate conflicts of interest. Board members should be nominated by the president and chosen by the Senate. Banking industry executives must no longer be allowed to serve on the Fed’s boards and to handpick its members and staff. Board positions should instead include representatives from all walks of life — including labor, consumers, homeowners, urban residents, farmers and small businesses.
...

www.nytimes.com...

That is unconstitutional since the Constitution states that only Congress can issue coin and regulate it's value...

Well, if we base it off wealth, and $500,000 is equivalent to say, level 40, then Trump would be... Level 320,000. =)

Do you really think Trumps affects you any more than me? I care nothing about Trump, he might as well live on Mars as much he has any affect on me. Trump could gain a billion tomorrow or die so how does ether affect your success or failures in life?

You can all blame yourselves for what is happening now. Young people have been taught that in this world there are the "winners" and "losers", and have come to realise that by default they are "losers" and becoming a "winner" is essentially a dice roll that they can only mildly influence at best, so they want to break the system. Because the system is rigged. Because the system is stupid. And no, I don't mean making America Communist like you'll probably assume.

Then one day you grow up and find out that everyone is not a winner, crappy degrees are worth nothing even when they cost 4 years and a 60k loan, you actually need to compete for a job and work hard to get it. I think the problem is young people today were taught everyone is a winner and so many now wonder where is there participation trophy...lol

What is rigged, please tell me? Why should I hire you? Back in my 20s I held crappy jobs that paid crap, any difference today? Once I gain skill and experience my jobs got better, when I added education to all that they got better still because my talents and skills happen to be desirable to companies to pay a higher wage.

I personally, and I believe I speak for most others here as well, couldn't give a rats ass about your seventy year old retiree with a net worth of 1.2 million.

Actually l'm 55 and still working hehe.. Had to start over after 28 years in the military, but I'm seem to do OK so far.

Kids born 20 years ago do not have the same exact opportunities as a 50 year old did 30 years ago. Something needs to be done to tip the economy in favor of small business owners and decent politicians.... I'm not saying I know what that something is.

The formula is the same. Gain skills and education and you move up. The problem is young people have been tricked into going down paths that end up worthless sorry to say. 50% of young people in college should not be there and they should be in a trade skill, which BTW pays well too.

I also fail to understand this lacking opportunities, as I said in another post I had crap jobs and crap pay in my 20s mainly because I had little skill. Things that are basically instinct to me today were impossible back when I was new to the work force, but I learned and grew and got better jobs.

Here's why so many people like Bernie: Low-information voters who have little understanding of economics, entitlement brat generation that thinks everything should be handed to them and that hard work is a thing of the past.

Even though those voters are some of the hardest working people on the planet and they are tired of receiving wars for their taxes.

Yep. Sanders supporters work harder than you do. Blue collar men and women who BUILD.

He did NOT say ban all weapons except hunting rifles. He said ban certain types of assault weapons that are only used to kill people. He never said he wanted to ban all weapons - so that's just an outright lie.

Really? An outright lie? Told by one of the people who are anti-Sanders? Geez, what an unexpected surprise. I am so very, very shocked to hear that.

The only way to fight against Sanders is with misrepresentation, because almost everything he says is so popular with the American people (in general) that allowing them to know his true viewpoints and intentions will basically guarantee his future as president.

I welcome the chance to discuss his policies because Elias is right. The more people learn the more support juggernauts.

Anyone else?

I'm voting for him so you won't be "converting" me or anything, haha.

But - Why the 50%+ corporate taxes? European countries he desires to model us after are closer to 20-30 percent, so why when trying to emulate things like universal health care, do we not attempt to emulate other aspects?

a reply to: deadlyhope

Oh, are they really that high? Are you sure it's the corporate taxes, because that seems like the top marginal income tax rate is purported to be.

a reply to: Eilasvaleleyn

You're right, it is the top marginal income tax rate - which is lower, or comparable to those other countries.

We have the highest coportate taxes, but also the most loop-holes, so not sure where the stands.

I gave you every opportunity to provide any of his wanted policies for discussion, and yet, like every Progressive, you refuse.

I have read up on his BS pitches to the masses.

I ask yet again, provide one to discuss.
