. and now I remember why I post here so often in support of "the left" and against the hypocrites on "the right" that claim to love the Constitution, hate partisan politics, but then spit on the Constitution every time their wingnut agenda is threatened.

So why are you making stuff up?

No one in this thread said Obama didn't have the power.

We are just expressing our displeasure at who his choice will be.

"Making stuff up" Are you KIDDING me? You, of all people here have the rank audacity to make that claim? Please.

You, yourself are posting here in support of denying the President of the United States one of his POWERS clearly mandated by our Constitution. You are supporting the Senate Majority Leader's (a position UNELECTED by the People) traitorous statement that "his" Senate will block ANY appointment.

Partisan political BS at its best.

The evidence is before us, and you have placed it there..

It's actually thanks to CU that anyone is giving him money at all.

The principles articulated by the Supreme Court in the case have also been extended to for-profit corporations, labor unions and other associations. By allowing unlimited election spending by individuals and corporations

en.wikipedia.org...

Labor unions and other associations and UNLIMITED election spending by INDIVIDUALS.

After he bragged about over a BILLION donations.

The irony.

I'm aware, and it's the way he'll get enough money to be president. The tools are there, without violating his commitment to not take money from big business.

OH NO!

That means that we will all be turned in to socialists, be forced to get gay-married and Planned Parenthood's on every street in America!

Whatever shall we do?

Quitely procreate while the left decimates itself..

Better leave the procreating to the younger Leftists.

The Right Wing seems to be old, angry and may have a heart attack if they actually had to "take care of business".

Medicare wouldn't be able to keep up with all the claims.

Well Barack Hussein Obama II gave a brief speech on Scalia's death, and said he is not in a hurry to appoint the next supreme court judge.

What a lie.

Well it was pretty easy too.

Feel free to quote the material.

And while your at it quote the first amendment that says people HAVE THE RIGHT to free speech.

Partisan political BS at its best.

Want to try AGAIN ?

Sri Srinivasan, who is he? Scalia's possible replacement?

One name floated frequently was Sri Srinivasan, who The New Yorker described as "the nominee in waiting."

Srinivasan, according to The New Yorker is "the Obama Administration's principal deputy solicitor general."

"He's had twenty or so arguments in the Supreme Court, including part of the Administration's attack on the Defense of Marriage Act last month. "

Srinivasan was nominated to the U.S. Court of Appeals for D.C. in 2012, at which time the President described him as "a highly-respected appellate advocate who has spent a distinguished career litigating before the U.S. Supreme Court."

According to a release by The White House at the time of his nomination, Srinivasan "began his legal career by serving as a law clerk for Judge J. Harvie Wilkinson on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit ."

Srinivasan also spent a year as a fellow in the office of the Solicitor General and clerked for Sandra Day O'Conner, The White House said.

After serving as an associate at O'Melveny & Myers LLP, Srinivasan returned to the Solicitor General's Office to work as an Assistant to the Solicitor General.

While serving in that post, Srinivasan represented the United States "in litigation before the Supreme Court," according to The White House.

As The New Yorker noted, Srinivasan " is currently the Obama Administration's principal deputy solicitor general."

The Stanford educated potential nominee received his bachelor degree, law degree and J.D. from California school. While Srinivasan was born in Chandigarh, India he grew up in Lawrence, Kansas, according to The White House.

Srikanth Srinivasan, of Virginia, was nominated to the U.S. Circuit Court Judge for Washington D.C. in May 2013. The tally was 97-0, including votes U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Presidential candidates Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio.

Great timing for the dems, imagine that. Amazing how things like this happen right when they need them too. Breitbart anyone? So right when he was about possibly rule against them in a big abortion decision. Right when they know they need to fill some upcoming vacancies to help their cause in case a conservative takes the office. Right when they are getting concerned about Hillary and that they may not retain the white house. Another convenient death by "natural causes" even though it's too early for anyone to have determined he indeed did die from natural causes. Yes, I am saying exactly what I'm saying. With the Clintons and Obama there are and always have been entirely too many coincidences for them to be a coincidence.

what about it is hard to believe?
the guy was a semi-mobile sack of lard and was almost 80
without world class health care the guy probably would have had a heart attack decades ago

Yeah! The bodies still warm.

I have no respect for Scalia, but I can respect that he has family.

I expect Obama does too.

Heh based on what I've seen from the young left, I'm not too worried. Gotta actually be selfless to have kids.

The incoming clown show from Washington regarding Scalia's replacement will remind everyone how frustrated they are with the Status quo. Book the "outsiders" Trump vs. Sanders for 2016.

all you need to do is look at the jackasses popping em out like rabbits to see thats not true
more concerned with quantity than quality

and youll still lose
they will grow and learn
and most will turn away after years of psychological struggle

the only hope you have is to turn back the clock and erase all new ideas and the very exchange of them

So wait a minute ... those of you who are promoting McConnell's absolutely unconstitutional stance that the Senate will stall until the next Election so the people of the US can "weigh in" on the nominee ... (conveniently ignoring that The People have weighed in twice in 2008 and 2012) ... because you think Obama will appoint a hard-left swinging liberal to the Court ... but you're hoping (somewhat against hope, I might add) that a Republican will be elected in November, that the Senate will stay in Republican hands (also a somewhat silly hope) and therefore you'll get another extremist right-wing partisan like Scalia put in place, patently against the will of the majority of the American people?

None of you clamoring for that see anything logically wrong at all with that, do you? Astounding.

I tell you people have not idea what they are hopeful for, they have not clue what they are asking for, McConnell, is an old fart fundamentalist conservative religious nut that almost had a hart attack when the supreme court gave gays right to marriage, now he wants the fundamentalist religious right in the nation to be the ones to have a voice on the next judge

Hilarious.
