The wonderful result of having almost the highest corporate tax rates in the world, refusal to tariff imports under the guise of "free trade" (free for them not for us), allowing foreign nations to dump their cargo in cheap ports south of the border, and allow all of this to happen in the name of "fairness".

A cell phone video taken at Carrier Air Conditioner in Indianapolis shows the exact moment that the plant and union workers were told that the company had decided to shift production south of the border. “The best way to stay competitive and protect the business for longterm is to move production from our facility in Indianapolis to Monterrey, Mexico,” says the company representative at the microphone.

Although the change would not take effect until 2017, the reactions from the gathered restless crowd were telling.

“How long will it take before people start tearing # up?” remarks one employee.

Business will do what is best for the shareholders they represent. Governments are supposed to do their best for the people they represent. The recently signed TPP trade deal voted on by politicians was likely what made this a very profitable move and one they had to do because if they don't the competition will.

Governments set the rules and companies do everything they can to be as competitive as possible within those rules. Mexico was part of the TPP and it opened up markets in Asia to goods manufactured there they may not have had access to before. Donald Trump was one of the few who was against it.

Yes because there is absolutely no middle ground between communism and capitalism with all these dumb free trade deals that put national interests last. America didn't become a prosperous nation under communism.

"Quieten down, thank you very much"

Surprised they didn't prepare a stake at that very moment.

Dunno about that. Many US corporations operate in other parts of the world and through transfer pricing, send their profits to their HQ in Cayman islands or some such where, they pay bugger all or no tax at all.

I emphasize them re loosing their jobs though, I've been out of work, 9 months now.

Suggest you look a little deeper and find out if the jobs are going to Mexico or they in fact going to China. People are starting to wake up to the transfer of jobs to China so they might now blame Mexico when in fact they are lying to you when in fact the jobs are being shipped to China'

Be careful of this sort of thing. I would have thought Americans would have woken up to their employers a long time ago and known not to trust them any further than they can be picked up and thrown. Who knows, it might simply be that the US wants to pick a fight with Mexico now for whatever reason.
