You mean abortion??? I'd agree with you. Stopping a pregnancy before it happens is best obviously.

Pay for contraception short-term, sure.

Pay for abortion, no.

Shouldn't that be the choice of those involved though???

You were given the choice, so should they be given that choice.

OP ... Not all Republicans think this way. It's like saying all Democrats are Communists. So please do not generalize. I know plenty of Republicans who are Pro Freedom, Pro Guns, Pro Choice and don't mind Gay Rights (in that order ... lol).

I don't support abortion and never will.

The state should stay away from prohibiting abortion or promoting abortion.

Pro-choice is not pro-abortion.

Although, to be fair, perhaps that is what you are alluding to.

That's fine because that is your choice. What you should support is for everyone to also have the freedom to make that choice for themselves as well.

I just cannot imagine this is a solution. There is no guarantee they will even use the contraceptive devices, and what if they fail (they are not 100% full proof). Also, this will not stop the spread of the virus, which may move through saliva. It will stop the immediate impact, but not the spread.

So if it's only 10% effective that is still 10% more effective than doing nothing.

Maybe our government should stop imposing its will on other countries and focus its time and effort on finding a real solution, or, you know, a cure.

That's just it, we are influencing them now which is why they have such policies now.

House Republicans running the Zika virus hearing avoided the issue of contraception and family planning access for women in endemic countries and instead urged women to welcome babies born with microcephaly.

well then, those house republicans should be forced to adopt those babies as their own and raise them

No state funding.

No state programs for promotion.

The state should not be involved at all. Positive or negative.

Why these dirtbags think this is any of their business is beyond me. Why anyone would want to force people to have deformed children that will suffer the rest of their lives and probably bankrupt their parents is hard to believe.

www.huffingtonpost.com...

Here's what he actually said:

Rep. Chris Smith (R-N.J.) said the U.S. needs to work harder to "ensure that any child born with with disabilities from this or any other infection is welcomed, loved and gets the care that he or she needs."

Such a dirtbag. God forbid someone thinks a child with disabilities can live out her life.

If they did I'd at least give them credit for being men of their word.

But we both know that will never happen.

I bet I'm more offended by people claiming they speak for God than you are by abortions.

There are mild and severe cases. They probably fair worse in abortion.

A lot of people see abortion as opportunistic murder of an infant and ageism.

Of course if your pro-choice then it's just a "blob of flesh".

Perhaps there are some complete psychos who see it that way but I doubt any doctors who give them are actually opportunistic murderers. They're just doctors who don't view the world like many religious fanatics who are paranoid of such things. Ageism is about discrimination toward elderly people. You're reaching man. Literally beyond reason too which is why this is such an issue. The inability for some to think about this clearly and rationally.

It doesn't matter what I think about it. Being pro-choice allows everyone to think what they want without having to justify what they think to someone else who isn't involved. You can think what you want and I can think like I want. Anything else would not be freedom of conscious. Something you should understand and support too.

"House Republicans running the Zika virus hearing avoided the issue of contraception and family planning access for women in endemic countries and instead urged women to welcome babies born with microcephaly. Duncan acknowledged that "many women do not have the luxury of simply choosing to wait" to get pregnant, but added that abortion access is not the answer, because many babies born with microcephaly "go on to lead very normal lives."

There it is, not even discussing contraception. So republican men not only claim ownership over american women bodies, they own Latin American women too.
