I'm not thinking the money need to go to the government. Need mechanisms that reward work and workers. Not through taxes to be redistributed. Wealthy need to take less and workers receive more for the work they do. Having middle man be government is probably bad.

Make a limit on investment profits versus what the people are paid for working. Less investment income and more for workers.

Seems only way. Not sure the numbers but work should pay more than a stock.

Cut all income taxes.

Remove all income taxes.

Remove the IRS.

Remove all corporate taxes.

Install a point of sale state, federal sales tax(that is 10% total instead of the absurd 39% tax rate) state side regulator.

Sounds like we're repeating history all over again.

Tragically, you are right. Here’s a quote from Orlando Figes’s brilliant and applalling history of the Russian Revolution, A People’s Tragedy. After 820 pages in which every depth of horror, inhumanity and despair is plumbed, he ends with this:

‘The state, however big, cannot make people equal or better human beings. All it can do is treat its citizens equally, and strive to ensure that their free activities are directed towards the general good.’

It seems that already, in less than a generation, people have forgotten that Socialism and Fascism have both been tried, over and over again, and have been proved — as far as any political prescription can be proven — worthless.

Now we have Socialists — Corbyn, Sanders — and wannabe Fascists — Trump, Marine Le Pen — peddling their failed prescriptions all over again, together with the Bible- and Q’uran-thumpers who want to institute their own religious brand of Fascism.

It sometimes seems to me as if there was a break in history somewhere around 1955. The cultural clock was reset; it was as if civilization collapsed and started all over again. In the process, the hard=learned lessons of the past were forgotten.

So we are doomed to repeat history. Whether as tragedy or farce, only time will tell.

Not ALL, but seemingly the ones in my geographical region. Many of the ones we interview are not willing to start out in an 'entry level' capacity, and grow with the comapmy, reaping rewards, as the availability comes forth. Sorry Krazy, that was a generalization.

Thanks, for bringing this to my attention!

My ideal tax, what ever the %, to repair my streets, funds law enforcement, first responders, fire, 911. It's like the cost of gas per gallon. Whether $1.20, or $6.00 per gallon. I have to have it

Which of the candidates are proposing changing the tax burden or eliminating it? I like these ideas but I don't hear lawmakers discussing this issue at all.

Call it what you will...it is happening. Turbo tax tells me I am in top 10%. I have worked hard all my life but I see, I see what is happening to my fellow Americans that are working hard and it cannot stand weather I like it or not.

Cool! Now lets make this a little more understandable. You are the leader of a town of 100 people, friends and neighbors. Some work long hours, build small businesses and make a very nice living. Others work for them in their store and still others walk around depressed and poor because they have no useful skills to offer the community. So as the leader of these people, you go to the business and tell them you are going to take 40% of everything they make to give it to these poor people without skills. By the way...the term for this is theft.

You give it to the poor and all of a sudden, they have no reason to better themselves. They continue as they are now that they have no reason to try harder. Then the children get wind of this. "Wait...I can bust my ass and have 40% taken from me, or sit around all day playing video games and GET part of that 40% for doing nothing?". Easy choice right?

With 40% less income to the businesses, the owner has to lay off some of their workers...you know...other members of the community. They then end up poor and take some of that 40%. You grow the poor population along with the unemployed and have to start taking more from the businesses and the "rich". You raise that to 60% because you have started a cycle that drives people to be takers instead of makers.

The business owner says "screw this" and closes down. All the employees are now out of work...but wait...THERE ISN'T ANYONE TO STEAL FROM TO PAY THEM!!! Now what genius? You've got a slum full of the unemployed with no where to work and the leeches who wouldn't work even if they had to.

Some leader!

"You give it to the poor and all of a sudden, they have no reason to better themselves"

This a very sad statement. Why do you believe that? Do you know what poverty is? God blessed me when he made me be born into an alcoholic, dysfunctional, cruel, criminal family. Out of 7 children, four of us managed to make it out alive.

I am well off now. But I could never had made it on my own without helping hands from 16 yrs old til 65. The first piece of luck was that at 16 someone gave me a job because he knew I was poor, not because of my qualifications or address.

The difference is, you had a reason to better yourself and your life. You knew there would be a reward in being better off. What these people want to do is remove that reward for being better off by force. They're taking away that reason for the poor to better themselves.

Who wants to to be richer and wealthier knowing that their hard earned money will be confiscated by force later on? You take away that ambition, that desire for self improvement by stealing from the well off.

I hate all kinds of coercion.

At 16 I would have rather been planning on going to college,or buying a prom dress,or play a sport or learn a musical instrument. I was coerced into working because I had three younger brothers who needed food too.
I think tax evaders should suck it up and help pay for wars so we can help poor Americans. If it takes laws, so be it then they can go to prison.

I don't believe I said anything about giving money to people that wont work for it.

I simply don't think the CEO getting 90 million bonus does more work than the guy cleaning his toilet. Even if he does it is not 90 million more worth of work. No way man.

It is a rigged system and it is about to get stopped by the people.

Try to remember that kids will be kids. I'm sure your generation was #ted on by the older generations when you were our age too. In fact, I know it was.

We've also pushed the age of maturity back quite considerably thanks to all the time spent in schooling. Back in the previous eras getting a high school education was lucky. Now kids could possibly be staying in school up into their mid to late 20's. The times are just different. We're all still human though, so if you were in our shoes, it would be similar situations.

I'm sorry to hear that. But you're still advocating theft. Which is what taxes is.

The U.S. federal income tax was from it's inception designed to for people like the Rothschild's and Rockefeller's to profit from it. The IRS was formed at the same time the federal reserve was formed. The intention has been to have the U.S. government go exceedingly more into debt to the federal reserve so that U.S. tax payers would foot the bill. The bill for a debt that was loaned to the U.S. government at interest for money that didn't exist the day before.

And why did the government need those loans in the first place? To purchase weaponry and fight wars that these people instigated by sponsoring both warring factions. Wars don't and never help poor Americans. They are a racket that profit only those that own the banks and central banks.

That being said. Poor people are helped more efficiently by private charities than by government programs.

CEOs are America's real moochers

The seven CEOs leading these tax-dodging corporations were paid $17.3 million on average in 2013. Boeing and Ford Motors both paid their CEOs more than $23 million last year while receiving large tax refunds.

And now both are moving manufacturing and technical development to Mexico, China and India to name a few. Giving your fathers job and ingenuity to them for free to make a profit.

Profit more important than God and Country.

Even from our birth as a nation we had to collect taxes to pay for wars. With modern times we need taxes for social programs since we left homesteads and farms. If private charities do a really effective job and jobs and wage grow, there won't be a big need for social programs. There is a way out of social struggles but there is no way out of all our wars.

I never did get an answer from the socialists here, so I'll ask again, how much tax is too much??

What amount of tax, what percentage would be the optimal rate?

What's the ideal tax?

You'll never get an answer. I've asked this question on multiple occasions. Just like they will never specifically define "living wage".

What you will find is that if you back them into a corner and do get an answer, the rate is actually lower than what most of people pay currently exposing their general lack of knowledge of taxation.

Some media outlets did this at one point. They asked people what tax rate was considered fair for people making like $1 million and the rates were like 25% or less. Of course, we know that people making $1 million or more in wages can pay upwards of 50% of more between fed and state taxes.

Cases like Warren Buffet drive home the point... cough cough nope

Don't they have trillions stashed in offshore tax havens? That should cover increased taxes and more. I always wondered why tax evaders did not go live where they stash their money. Oh, I guess they would have to pay taxes to that country. Their citizens are dumb too.

Or they might actually pay taxes in those countries, but they pay far less.

...

That's not to mention the payroll TAXES they are shelling out for their employees social security, and medicare contributions.

That TAX called for unemployment insurance.

But i digrees corporations 'don't' pay taxes.

The reality is the pay a plethora of taxes.

But apparently that isn't enough for them.

The willfully IGNORE that everyone gets tax breaks.

Even half of this country.

46 Percent of Americans Exempt From Federal Income Tax in 2011

When half of this country isn't paying taxes.

They actually have the nerve to whine about someone who is.

When half the country likely owns less than a couple dozen billionaires, what can you say when they struggle to put food on the table.

In the past a high school grad could have a stay at home wife, a couple kids, retirement, a large home, multiple vacations a year, etc. Now it takes two Ph'd graduates to struggle working full time for less. Where did all that wealth that the high school grads were getting go? Well it went to the top, with stagnating wages, their fair share was blatantly stolen by the rich.

Now a high school grad, needs public housing, and public transportation, and can't afford shizzat.

That's funny.

Because in 2016 the current generation gets paid more, has more benefits, has more 'stuff', has bigger homes, cars than our parents or grandparents, and their grand parents ever had.

But hey we're 'poor'.
Even more funny that todays technology does most of the work for the majority.

yes 99% of poor have refrigerators

This is the world revolution that the current top 1% elite fear the most.

They have been desperate to create a NWO 'Hunger Games' world since 2001.

Now they have finally run out time and options that give them victory, let alone survival.

Except that this won't affect the top 1%... People in the left forget that when they talk about the top1% those people include George Soros, Ted Turner, Oprah, etc, etc But those people won't be touched...

Remember how the Obama administration used the IRS to go after conservatives?... It doesn't matter whether you are part of the 10% or part of the 20%, or part of the 50%... As long as your views oppose those of socialism, people like Sanders will use their socialist redistribution of wealth to strip at first any, and every American that politically leans to the right of their money...

When that barrel is empty, or when the economic crash occurs, socialists like Sanders will redistribute any, and every money even those in the left have, and only the power elite will be able to control all money...

That's what people who cheer for Sanders are asking for, and if he is selected/elected it is what will happen...

Trump wants to do away with the estate tax, iirc, what that basically means is the creation of a new nobility. The assets of some of those multibillionaire make more in a month than what countless americans make in their entire lifetime. With wealth free to accumulate generation to generation, it will create a new class high above the common folk, a new nobility as happened in the past. Perhaps the wealthiest may even lobby for laws to make them into the new monarchy.

Humans have had money for thousands of years, time and time again society after society, it is clear what develops through time if measures aren't taken. Nobilites, Monarchies, higher castes, etc. And heads roll after the excesses go too far, perhaps it's best to cull the excesses with less violence before heads need to roll.

As you know, no generalized comment includes "everyone". There are always exceptions. But for your one example, I can count ten that I've met. Sit at home, drink or smoke, do nothing all day...party all night, have kids, kids do the same. A true waste of life.

You didn't have to...people who won't work get it anyway. I can't even count how many times I spoke to someone on the phone or in person who obviously had no interest in the job...just the application. Dirty shirt, acting dumb, showing up late or not at all. I know quite a few of these types. In my experience...some grow pot in the bedrooms and use that as income. Others take in children with family problems and make them pay $300 rent for a bed to pay their mortgage while they don't work. Others just lie...pay cash for their large screen TV and use an EBT card for their food.

If you want to be pissed about a CEO getting a giant bonus...keep in mind this is someone that runs a company that pays taxes, follows the law (eg. fix the laws) and actually works. How about getting pissed instead at Obama's demand for 19 BILLION to make their computers more secure. You know...the same computers Clinton bypassed allowing top secret information to be easily hackable by anyone willing to try.

Make you a deal. Stop the government overspending and BS departments that do nothing but spend money and THEN I'll gladly reevaluate if the CEOs need reviewing.
