I have an idea. Since a lot of the money that is sent back to Mexico is under-the-table money that has not had taxes paid on the earnings of it, let us pay for the fence by having Western Union and other fund transfering outfits collect a tax on that disappearing money. It's a very common thing to do on things like airport taxes, travel taxes, etc.

That fence could pay for itself in no time by the same people that crossed the border originally.

The whole "build a wall" promise by Trump has to be the dumbest thing any candidate for President has ever said. Forget the money aspect. Let's just say the U.S. had a few billion allocated for the design and construction of some incredible super wall which would serve some sort of real purpose. It went fifty feet into the ground and was twenty stories high.

Now let's say Mexico happily agreed to go in halvsies on the project.

Now let's ignore the continual sabotage of the construction by any number of terrorist and drug organizations which would plague such an endeavor.

Now let's ignore the entire Gulf of Mexico and Pacific Ocean exist, which logistically makes said wall a complete waste of time.

What are we looking at, breaking ground in 2020 at best? Completion at some point in 2050? 2060? That's a conservative estimate. He could win and serve both terms and that stupid wall would never ever get built.

Dear Aliensun,

In the precise moment in which the government collects taxes from a segment of the population is giving to them immediately status of legality, you can't continue claiming that they are illegal if they are paying their taxes, that is by definition a contradiction.

Now, something that Trump has not considered at all is that those immigrants that he falsely claim are getting jobs Americans might have otherwise, are serving as a cheap worker force for American entrepreneurs that otherwise would never have the capital to have any business at all.

What is the alternative for them? Trump says that they are going to hire Americans, and that is a wrong conclusion, because they can't do that and continue being profitable , I am going to tell you what they are going to do, they will move all their businesses either to Australia, New Zeland or to China , as many others have already done.

Great part of the income of those people that work for the money no body else want to work in America is supporting a lot of sectors of the economy, like the businesses that sell them food, clothes, housing, transportation, water, energy, cellular phones, medicine, etc. So they are consuming from sectors in which there are actually a lot of Americans living for, it is not only western union what they pay, they can't live here without buying what they need to survive.

Now, what is the benefit of all this? well if a lot of people in America will risk to be in bankrupty when the Latino Market will be erased at all, with all the millions they consume of products and services, Trump is going to buy for pennies companies that right now cost millions, he is going to expand more his influence in the country in the same way he did during the great recession when he bought for cents housing that people disparately was unable to continue paying.

Now, if in addition to this we loose the Market of Mexico in which thousands of millions of American products are sold every year, because Mexico is not going to continue dealing with a President that is their enemy, then the negative impact on the Economy could easily trigger another major recession.

Do you really think he is a philanthropist?, not at all he is a monopolist, he is not doing campaign to make others as rich as he is, that is absurd. Oh come one, I can assure you that he is not the Wizard of Oz at all, he is a vulture in search for more death companies to absorb. If he becomes elected we will send America to another recession to make him immensely more rich at the cost of the pain of millions.

nowingly No they woudnt but.. who is to say we dont increase tariffs an d penalties for illegals coming over and have the UN dictate to them they will pay their fines and what is owed to the US for damages incured by mexican illegals.

How would that happen its just enforcing our laws. Illegals crossing over should be fined and their home country pay for their housing and incarceration or return home. As to increasing tariffs that works both ways right? SO no its not very german.

The size of our external trade with Latin America is such that if such embargo or commercial isolation arrives we perfectly can go into another Great Recession.

We are talking about sales for about 35000 millions of dollars every year for American Companies selling just in Central America and South America.

Given that the Mexican government relies on oil for somewhere between 20 to 30 percent or so of it's revenue, I don't think they could even afford the wall.

The exportations of Mexican cars and Mexican flat TV sets to the US are creating a revenue in the other side of the border that is almost as high as the oil you are mentioning.

This is because the Mexican cars consume also less gas than the ones manufactured in America and in addition they are cheaper.

Now, the American population that is located in the States along the Mexican border very frequently use to consume pharmaceutical products, medical and dentistry services in the other side, because they are good quality but several times cheaper than the ones offered in US.

There is an entire health industry: Clinics, Hospitals, laboratories, pharmacies, that are located in the border that live from the American customers.

I think you are not very well updated on what are the strongest sectors of the Mexican Economy in these days.

I don't think the problem is that Mexico can't afford the wall, is that there is no way to force another country to construct something that is clearly not their responsibility.

There is to much exaggeration in the rhetoric of Trump about the illegal migration to the US from Mexico, as a matter of fact the Obama Administration has deported alone more people that all what it was deported before along the entire History in between the two countries.

Now, many of the so called deportations were really migration back to Mexico, since the US economy is no longer providing the demand that had in other times of Mexican workers, many are even having better opportunities there than here.

Mexican workers find easier well paid and decent jobs in the Automotive or Electronic factories in Mexico than what ever can find here. The Hispanic people that is no migrating to Mexico is because they were born and raised here and so they are adapted to the US style of life, many even don't speak Spanish anymore. That is the people Donald Trump want to remove nationality and citizenship.

The real reason for which there are no more Jobs in US for Americans is because their jobs were sent years ago to China or other Asian countries. The exportation of capitals to the far east is the real cause of the lack of better opportunities for the middle and low classes in America.

Mexico has nothing to do with that situation, So Trump is just deceiving voters with a smog curtain that is not going to solve nothing. I can assure you that he wants that wall so much since as a Real State Mogul he is the one that is going to build it, so such a construction will make him immensely more rich than what he is right now.

Moreover, he needs to use much cheaper Mexican workers to build such a wall since if he pays American ones he is not going to get the fantastic profits he is projecting to get from such a business.
