"Government" as we know it, can be changed. It has to change. I think getting rid of money is the first and most vital step.

I totally agree....

And step one is to send me your money. I'll get rid of it for you so you can rest easy in the knowledge that you are acting in a positive manner to bring about your ideological nirvana. It's the least I can do....

If you're so against socialism, stop paying taxes.

Can't do that.

The supporters of a heavy progressive or graduated income tax (the IRS) will get you.

Plank 2 Komrades.

So you're against what our founding fathers stood for? Against the Constitution? Because the Constitution and the founding fathers thought taxes to not only be necessary but essential to our countries foundation. You can't have a functioning country without taxes, you can't have a functioning society without people being taken care of.

Oh don't start that crap!

really.

So tell me how well the government is using my tax dollars. Tell me the founding fathers wouldn't burn DC to the ground!

So you're not against taxes, only against how they're being used? That means you're not against socialism, only how it is implemented. That has been my entire point.

If you're so against capitalism, give your neighbor half your check and half you land for the common good. Also tell your employer that you're overvalued and convinced them to pay you less for the common good of man, and while you're at it double your taxes, because as we know govt is a lot better at spending your money than you are.

Nice try, but no.

The US is nothing like the founding fathers envisioned.

People have abused and warped interpretations of the Constitution and Bill of Rights as well as redefined socialism and communism.

Too soon communism, socialism, authoritarianism, fascism, whatever you want to call it, will be here.

You will cheer it, until it bites you.

But by then it'll be too late.

I'm against our current version of capitalism. There's a difference between true capitalism and corrupt capitalism, we have the corrupt variety. Communism is corrupt socialism in the same exact way.

No one is trying to make America a socialist country. All candidates and most citizens agree with and enjoy capitalism.

Bernie wants to do two main things, and they are great things-

#1: raise taxes slightly, not super high socialist style, but a little more.

#2: re-aprropriate the way taxes are currently being used. Make them more useful to the average citizen (free healthcare, education, etc)

Whats the big deal with any of this?

It sounds great!!

Soon? Authoritarianism, fascism, etc. is already here and crony capitalism is the main culprit behind it.

You're right though, America is nothing like what the founding fathers envisioned, but socialism was a part of their vision whether you want to admit it or not. Taxes are part of the Constitution, they are socialist in nature.

No communism is true socialism, the govt makes sure that nobody can prosper and the 1% morph from businessmen to government men. The only difference is Exxon and apple have never killed millions to protect their power, govt has.

Relax, there is one democratic socialist out of a gaggle of rampant capitalists, you can safely assume Lennin's statue is not being being erected in New Hampshire.....

That joke was funny the first 10,000 times I heard it.

Instead we should give all of our money back to China and Saudi Arabia, then make it illegal to establish a currency in the U.S.

Communism and socialism are not the same thing, but keep drinking the koolaid if you like. Let's keep the current system, it's working perfectly.... for those with all the money.

Too many have too many definitions for socialism.

What the founders wanted is a far cry from the prison-rape socialism is today.

Socialism is working great in the EU isn't it. I heard the jobs are plentiful in Greece.

So what makes you think your definition (everybody gets free stuff without having to work!!!!) is the right definition?

Your definition is wrong, no one gets free stuff, at least not anymore than they already do with our current system. If you pay your taxes, you are working for that money, you aren't getting anything for free.

But they'll just say that Greece isn't "real" socialism, because "real" socialism is super awesome!

Everyone would get free stuff if the government owned everything and just gave it to us, because we can trust the government. They would never lie to us!
