Yes, just as members of Congress can refuse to bring a Bill to the floor or the President can veto a Bill that Congress passed. If a President has to use Executive Orders in order to get his/her agenda out chances are that Congress won't like the EO and will challenge it. If it's unconstitutional or iffy, SCOTUS will take it up and issue a ruling on it.

Every step of this process is designed by the Framers.

You didn't even get close to responding to my post. Which tells me more than you could've ever written.

I believe as Hillary emerges from her lair, she'll be met with the same sentiment that punted Jeb Bush out of the election.

Long time reader, first time poster. Maybe I should have chosen a non political thread for my first one

Everyone here makes some good points about Bernie. I'm cautiously optimistic that if he wins it wouldn't be a terrible thing.

My biggest worry is I fear he'll institute far too many social programs. We need to cut our spending, not raise it. I do like his flat income idea, though only if it was followed by a dismantling of our current welfare and food stamp system.

Are the social programs not a concern for all your Bernie supporters? I mean, I get he'll bring much needed change, but if our spendings continue to go up we didn't change much that directly effects me (taxes).

It's not the social programs that eat up all your tax dollars...it's needless wars and corporate welfare.

All i can say is

'Chelsea was right'!

She knows it's all set up, her subconscious opened it's mouth a few days ago declaring the victor to be Sanders.

Let's see if Trump can change it? Unless of course he's been a Willing Pawn all along?

I remembered a time when the term LIBERAL!! was such a dirty word ppl would shun you with just a dismissive look, and the term socialist was a death knell to any aspiring presidential candidate ,so much so that weak kneed Libs, had to embraced another term progressive to attach themselves to,it was fun watching an insider with right wing tendencies fight for the right to be considered a Progressive with Burnie , when previously she had I.D herself as moderate, which for me meant giving everything the Conservatives want by negotiating from their position, I remembered when John Boehner house speaker famously boasted.I got 98 percent of what I wanted ,who was he negotiating with??..Obama , who in all honestly governed like a moderate Republican used to be..ie Reagan.

The corporates suck the money out of government, you cut that loss and the government can do more for the people.

As for socialized medicine, the ACA was delivered to congress by lobbyist for their profits, that means single payer would be cheaper!

But those are just a couple of my interpretations and opinions. Read what Sen Sanders says, not somebody else and pay attention, it all fits into place imho.

I'm, sadly, well aware of how much of my money goes to big business. But social programs are more than just food stamps -- there's welfare, health care, education, etc etc. Some are certainly required while others are not (IMO).

The answer shouldn't be one or the other, IMO. It should be to fix it all anyway you can. Would it matter if that 6k to business was turned around and spent on social programs that only help the bottom 1% (instead of the top?). It's effectively the same thing - were still being robbed to help a small fraction of people.

I'm not saying Bernie will do that - but his openly socialist views certainly makes me worried it could happen.

I guess if you are ok with the corpratracracy then vote for a Republican.

All this "socialist" talk is just BS. Do you honestly think he can circumvent congress?

Okay, however will your beloved Bernie, care for your vote as a 'conspiracy theorist'?!

or will your vote go right into the toilet bowl like all the votes for Obama and Bush and those prior because they are not playing for your side of things or my side of things; they are playing for their side of things and the US population remains woefully ignorant of that fact! Two party politics is a sham and anyone who doubts it is the 'brain trust' that has brought us to the potential destruction of the largest middle class in the history of the modern world....

...but keep on talking about Democrat or Republican as if that will change a damn thing.

I have an alternative passport, what are you going to do if you are wrong? (BTW: Not personal, just responding to your post as it seems to be a prevalent opinion and your post was convenient.)

Bernie is against the Super Pacs.

But some of the Super Pacs are "supporting" him with some big outside dough-ray-me.

There are some

I would appreciate a Sanders supporter to comment on this, as it appears to have been ignored.
Thank you.

“I am very proud to be the only candidate up here who does not have a super PAC,” Sanders said Thursday night, as he has many times before.

While there is no super PAC created solely to support Sanders’s campaign for president as there is for Clinton, several outside groups have spent large sums of money in favor of the Vermont senator.

One of the most prominent is the super PAC of National Nurses United, the nation’s largest nurses union, which has endorsed Sanders.

The group often has volunteers at Sanders events and its super PAC has spent close to $1 million on ads and other support for the senator, the New York Times reported in January. In fact, the group had its biggest off-year fundraising effort ever last year. National Nurses United for Patient Protection brought in $2.3 million in 2015, Politico reported, and it gave significant funds to two other unlimited spending groups supporting Sanders.

Another group, Friends of Earth Action, has been airing ads for Sanders in Iowa and New Hampshire, CNN reported last month. Friends of Earth Action is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization, which means it has no limit on the dollar amount supporters can give and is not required to disclose its donors, making it the type of group that Sanders frequently criticizes.

Yes indeed, note the blue.

Note how we are not being invaded other than by our so called elected leaders bringing anybody in who can usurp the Americans who either grew up here or moved here properly with the intent of embracing personal freedom.

That blue part is ALL they should have spent the money for and the people who pay taxes and have jobs would have the ridiculous amount of money from say, the ripped off Social Security funds that many of us pay into weekly, bi weekly etc.

The real story here is bankrupt the USA as fast as possible so the PTB can have their way on planet Earth without interfering do gooders who spread love and respect of their fellow men who will agree to live in peace with those they might not agree with on all things.

My feeling on the Bern, is he is too communist for our own good and the people, like me , who are sick of corporate welfare appear to have two options, like it or die. Bernie is a salve for some. He is saying he can fix it But not one single time has communism led the people to freedom, not one. Russia threw off the boot on their throat but still have the affects with Putin in charge being a reminder of how close they are to that society still.

And there is a reason all these country's in the West who at least pretend to give us personal freedom invent most of the new science related ideas. It is because of that personal freedom to challenge the "it is settled move on now" crowds on many subjects. Nothing is settled in science until it is a law and that is up for debate if you would have known one elite Albert Einstein who still had reason to wonder.

In the totalitarian states like Soviet Russian , N Korea, China and Jihad regions of the ME we see no tolerance for any "truth" not officially sanctioned. Any new 'truth' that is not sanctioned in those parts of the world are met with death and family members being used as hostages. The west might have whiners about some new 'truth' coming out but it is not the official position they should be beheaded and their families ostracized.
Bernie is walking us into a dangerous government is my true belief but for you Dem/Libs he is light years better for the US than Hillary the liar.

That's the same deal with ALL super PACS. The candidate has no control over their expenditures, media buys or ad content.

There is no point on commenting on the rest of your post when you make it obvious with the first sentence that you have absolutely no clue what you are talking about.

Bernie is no where near being communist.
