Oh hell no! Just no! I guess that would be a delicacy in some places though.

I can attest to all kinds of creepy crawlers comming in on bananas... I worked in a grocery store when I was in high school as a bag boy/shelf stocker and the girls working in produce would always freak out and come running to us to come and remove what ever massive dead critter they discovered in the boxes of bananas...big spiders, big beetles, big fly things, at least they were always dead because it took so long to arrive here in northern Canada.

There were black widow spiders in a shipment of grapes sent to Missouri area grocery stores not too long ago. I remember they were warning people to be careful if they bought grapes from certain stores. To make sure they inspected those grapes closely before handling them.

Yeah, that's a big "Nope!". I'm normally a catch and release person in terms of bugs, but that guy falls into the "burn it with fire" category.

At least up here in MI - the most we ever hear about is spiders in the bananas and grapes - Usually it's big news if someone finds a black widow or a brown recluse; I remember my parents having to check over the grapes sometimes. If I found something like that though, I'd probably not be eating bagged salad for years after.
