So... Why do you debate?

it can be fun. Most people have an opinion, it's interesting to see if your opinion holds any merit or can be proven wrong. It's interesting to hear others opinion on a subject. It's a mental challenge that forces you to engage your brain and find supporting facts and evidence to give your opinion some merit.

I love a good debate. Sometimes, I'll even take a position I don't really believe in, just to hone my debating skills.
Drives my kids nuts though, because they can never tell if I'm genuine or not.
