"If people are asking what makes us human, they're not going to find a smoking gun [in this study]," said Evan Eichler, a genome scientist at the University of Washington in Seattle who was part of the research team. "But they're going to find suggestions for where to look."

That's from your link by the way...

Do you understand what you read???

Of course I do, you seem to struggle with what they are trying to say: they are trying to determine what creates traits that are specific to us and us only and by comparing our genomes and apes is the way to do so. They know that 96% of DNA is the same, now they have to work on the differences to say exactly why we have specific traits apes don't have, like talking for example.

There you go: I explained it easy enough.

Funny how you don't provide an explanation or evidence for your theory though, I do.

That's a highly speculative far reaching claim to say that is proof we are derived from apes...

If your explanation is so accurate...
please tell me why rats share 99% of our DNA???

No, we don't.

You don't understand: we do NOT derive from apes. We have one common ancestor.

I believe you've confused genes with DNA.

We infact share about 97.5% of our GENES with mice.

Here's a nice little place which tells you what shares how much of what with what. LINK

Do you also refuse the science of paternity tests? Because it's exactly the same science.

Not unless you want to tell me paternity tests are responsible for mutations and that you have the missing model to prove mutations have the ability to add the complex information required for a jump in species...

It's a simple enough question: do you or do you not deny the science of paternity tests? Because as inconvenient for your narrative as it may be, it's exactly the same science.

Are you saying paternity tests can add the information to DNA to cause a lizard to grow wings and become a bird?

I ask a simple question, you ask a silly one back.

As entertaining as it is to watch you wrestle with the cognitive dissonance, the question remains unanswered.

*awaits another illogically construed straw man instead of answering the question*

How would a test for paternity be evidence for evolution?

Are you saying you have a paternity test for an ape mother and human father?

Oh deary me, you're really squirming to avoid a simple question. Quite revealing.

I'll ask it again for the heck of it:

Do you also refuse the science of paternity tests? Because it's exactly the same science.

Paternity tests are evolution...
OK gotcha

Don't worry, you don't actually have to answer. Your avoidance is enough to demonstrate my point.

No further questions, your honor.

You are willfully ignorant, despite people 'schooling' you in this thread ( and others).

You do know his answer for everything though, don't you?

If not, here it is, broken down into 3 easy words.

God did it.

Gimme a break I had to take a shower been up for over 20 hours...
OK you explain to me how 3 verifiable samples which can be directly correlated as evidence of lineage is proof of evolution...
I await your reply...
