Uh...So that's what Israel's so terrified of.

They are not trying to intimidate Israel. I don't think they are that stupid to think someone in Israel will fall for this.
The purpose of this is to fool the Gazan citizens into thinking they are wining , and to distract them from the fact that their sons are dying underground for no reason.

One tank? Anyone near it is instantly threatened not by the "threat to Israel", but by the rain of bombs if its spotted. That ongoing threat comes from Israel at any moment, for any perceived threat.

The only possible threat to Israel would be loss of sleep worrying about one captured tank in the deep cover rumor mills and the lack of sleep of the drone pilots and air branch looking for it.

In that sense its brilliant. So the Gazans start a rumor and they 'display' a tank at night but the IDF got a revealing picture showing the ruse. Not unlike the west claiming the terrs have WMD now is it?

Be verrry afraid. Oh, Israel, the Palestinians are haunting them in their sleep.

Well, "threat to Israel" = "rain of bombs" so... anyone near that "tank" is threatened by the fact that Israel may interpreted it as a threat. But isn't it what Hamas wants? To show off civilian casualties? This is the only way they ever got sympathy from the international community - by creating situations in which civilians die and then sending the mothers to cry in front of the cameras. Nobody would be surprised if below that "tank" there is a car full of kids.

Don't think so. It would be impossible to sneak a tank into Gaza without Israel knowing about it. I'm sure the Israeli intelligence community were laughing their asses off at this announcement, even before actually seeing the this ridiculous picture.

I guess your statement would make sense, if this picture wasn't presented by every MSM outlet in the world.

Be verrry afraid. Oh, Israel, the Palestinians are haunting them in their sleep.

This is very correct. Thanks to Palestinian terror organizations... and Bibi...

Perhaps it is simply a float for a parade march.

Yep, they're just showing off how peaceful they are by creating props of machines of war.

I thought thats what their oppressors do. Cry all day about the terrible, evil Gazans.

Cry to the UN, cry to the american president, the media, the pulpit.

Bwah, poor us, so above reproach.

After all, they are on Holy Ground and 'Chosen'. Better than everyone else. Not that dirt is holy or some special over others.

God is on the side of the oppressed, not the oppressors.

It's been correctly pointed out that we have strayed a bit from the original intent of the thread. But you mentioned an interesting point about the IDF tunnel detection attempts, and there has been little discussion of the Hamas tunnels yet, even though it was mentioned in the OP.

A bit of research shows what a highly motivated, under equipped, para-military force can accomplish when necessary. The Palestinians have constructed a sophisticated network of tunnels that provide not only for the movement of supplies into the region, but also for access across the border for attacks against IDF forces in Israel.

In building and maintaining those tunnels, the Palestinians have lost a number of workers:

The Institute for Palestine Studies reported in 2012 that Hamas authorities had counted 160 deaths inside the tunnels since the Israeli blockade began in 2007, and in August 2014, al-Jazeera reported that figure to be as high as 400.

While the tunnels are used by Hamas as a source of tax revenue and inflow of weapons, they also supply highly-demanded necessities for Gaza's 1.8 million residents under the blockade, including food, medicine, as well as infrastructure materials like concrete and fuel.
Gaza Tunnel Collapse

Wikipedia says this about Hamas' usage of the tunnels for military operations during the 2014 conflict:

On at least four occasions during the conflict, Palestinian militants crossing the border through the tunnels engaged in combat with Israeli soldiers. In practice, only Israeli military targets have successfully been attacked through them. The UNHRC Commission of Inquiry on the Gaza Conflict found "the tunnels were only used to conduct attacks directed at IDF positions in Israel in the vicinity of the Green Line, which are legitimate military targets." Israeli officials condemned the UNHRC report.

You made this point about the Israeli tunnel detection technology:

oddly all that tunnel building they are undertaking has pushed ground penetration radar and other tunnel detection technologys far ahead of were they would have been without this idiological conflict

Apparently they have been successful in testing their new detection systems and will likely deploy this year at a cost of between $385 million and $640 million USD. I can't find any technical information on how the system works, but the IDF has several times demonstrated their flexibility and creativity in developing sophisticated weapons systems.

So, while we can laugh at Hamas' tank prop, we still must acknowledge their creativity and tenaciousness when it comes to fighting their enemy.

Besides that its fake, the claim is was captured in Gaza, so the article suggests.

People of Gaza know that one captured tank isn't going to defeat the IDF or free their people.

If anything it brings reprisals, i.e., more bombs.

lol, Palestinian and Jewish 'agreements' are deals with the devil. Just like this endless bicker, there's only one , 'final' solution to the endless peace process, the peace of the grave, for Palestine.

Every utterance, agreement or solution is a distraction.

I know where the truth lies, red lines, cartoon bombs, and plywood tanks notwithstanding.

How did they get tires?

Meanwhile lets joke about poor people in Gaza being under siege for decades .

" how did they get tires " is actually a legit question . insensitive as hell ,but right on target .

Is hamas a stupid organization ? yes . but for me its like this :

Hamas or Israel ? these are the only choices available for now . in light of this ,my choice will always be Hamas cause they've killed less civilians in their whole existence than Israel did in one day during the 2009 war .

Considering the Egyptians had a chance to take GAza back and Didnt forcing the ISraelis to keep it might be a part of the problem. It was given back to them but they refused it. Wonder why? it is a mystery. Same with the Jordanians and their property.

Oh and we cant forget Yasser arafatt and the PLO themselves stating there isnt a true Palestinian people there as well. they in truth are jordanian, and egyptian refugees who neither country wants.

Real or not it will be a bullet and bomb magnet.

Real or not the first time Israel get a chance they are going to take it out just in case its a front for a real tank that Hamas might have.

Religion is used to foster delusion. The Chosenites are 'special' because God backs them, therefore they can act with more impunity.

They bomb Gaza naming the Operation, Pillar of Cloud.

The world looks the other way because its Oh, Israel, Poor Israel.
