It's rather interesting to be driving along and something goes screaming past the commercial traffic you've been watching, and there's no sound from it.

I've been driving I 80 through Wyoming twice a week for the last 6 years. Fast moving green lights, horizon to horizon in lest than 5 seconds. Orange blobs flitting around making rather tight turns. I see most of the interesting stuff between Laramie and Elk Mountain.

I'd bet they're out of California, and Wyoming is a good test area, since about all they're going to bother are critters for a lot of the state.

Depending on the platform, they come out of Groom or Edwards. I suspect they fly up that way to avoid too many prying eyes.

Population density. If they go supersonic they're going to bother cows and critters more than people, if they leave a big footprint.
