This thread is all Metallica through the 1980's before they changed..
God i remember this music up at the house, 'the party house' we called it. Good Times. Where everyone was cool, not rich not popular just real, totally real and down to earth. Nothing like it is now, now it's all BS@@# and PC.

Master of puppets was a cool album. The Cliff Burton era was their creative peak for me but Lars has always been a terrible drummer.

I'm with you on the eighties era.

But not all folks are fake and BS these days. There are those who hold the banner of metal high, and march all over the faces of all who oppose its principles! I go round to a buddies house every week and thrash out to all sorts of old school stuff. Its just better.

We are all off to see Exodus at a local venue in March. Admittedly, it will not be the original line up, but the riffs are going to be pure violence!

Hi TrueBrit! You're old school too eh?

I hear you, not all music is fake bs just most of it! 'laffs'.

I remember the term 'headbanger' well. lol I should have had my own band back then. I sing and i can drum but only my older sister mastered the guitar. If i had a time machine, things may have been different. But for reasons other than my own personal wants, mostly.

Yesterdays violence is today called 'terrorism'. Oh how times have changed...

This is by far the funniest thing I've seen today, didn't think it would be appreciated anywhere else.

The best of Metallica in the 80's

=

Dave Mustaine

Why did they start sounding different?

After kicking Dave out of the band he helped put together, they continued using mostly songs he wrote, then they ran out of source material. They had, I think, three good songs on their own after that.

Megadeth > Metallica

Plus, Lars Ulrich couldn't out drum an 80 year old Parkinson's victim, and is an all around terrible human being.

Edit: I just realized, the three decent songs I mentioned are the exact three videos posted in the OP! LOL I rest my case.

Ah yes Dave Mustaine, he was really great. One of the best. I remember seeing a Vid of him back in the 80's he became or was Xian and was a Wonderful Husband and Father. I haven't read up on him lately but he was a really decent and nice human being.
