I am in utter disbelief that this 'Flat-Earth' nonsense has gained some attention

If the earth was flat, why is it always assumed there is an edge?

I'm extremely open minded, but it's hard to wrap my brain around this one, at least objectively.
I'm poking around now, found this...
www.theflatearthsociety.org...
Apparently there's more than a few of them.
I did read something about not being able to book a direct flight from South America to Australia, and something about flights not being tracked in the southern hemisphere. I'm curious now lol.

DOCHOLIDAZE1 is right about the travel restrictions to Antarctica though, to my understanding, they don't just let anybody go there.

Quick searches will show how wrong their claims are.

I'm not sure about the South America to Australia though (can't be bothered to google it).

you only provided a link about a tour you provided no evidence that anyone flies over the entire continent

Ok? Here's a question. Why would you need to?

EDIT After a really quick search there's THIS LINK too.

I have no doubt lol.

Maybe we could put together a fund to book a trip for one of us to go there and see if they will let you throw a tent up a few miles south of Mcmurdo this spring. I'll throw a couple-a-bucks in on it. If we can send ignorant_ape, I'll throw in a couple of grand.

Well there's common sense too.

Example: Someone says you can't fly over South Pole.

Solution: Google flights to South Pole.

Nor why it is that Polaris gets closer to the horizon the lower your latitude. And why it disappears altogether in the the southern hemisphere.

if you [ and others ] would pay me to go on an exped to antarctica - yup i would go in an instant*

though - apart from making me a very happi munkie - i am not sure what this would acheive

as flat earthers would denounce any evidence i produced as " oblate sphereist propaganda "

* subject to the kit you supplied conforming to BAS reccomendations - and a return ticket
