This is absolutely, 100% correct. The 2 Presidents Adam were highly qualified, and highly respected men in their time. In todays time, they would stand as giants above the infinitesimally smaller intellects and ethics of todays politician.

It should be noted that US politics dating all the way back to when the country was brand new has been rife with political dynasties... *Cough*Adams and Adams*Cough*

Both John Adams and John Quincy Adams were eminently qualified for the job.
They were also patriots who loved their country and wanted to serve.
The same cannot be said of Hillary or Chelsea.

Sounds like you are looking at those two through a bland view of history. How much do you know about those two personally? John Adams, himself, was quite insufferable and immensely disliked pretty much everyone.

I don't think there were 320 mil people to choose from back then.

Only landowners/men could vote, right?

That would narrow it down to about 9 people able to run for potus. lol!

I remember a while back some psychic said that surprisingly Hillary Clinton would not be the first female President. It would be her daughter Chelsea.

Hmmm.

The Adams aren't the only examples I can think of. There's also the Kennedys. Even FDR and Teddy were technically related.

Hamilton and Jefferson may not have liked him, but Washington loved him.

Adam's is, philosophically speaking, THE creator of our Constitution. He was acknowledged as being highly educated and highly intellectual. Highly regarded enough he was chosen to draft the Declaration of Independence. And what did this insufferable ass do? Ceded the honor to Jefferson, as a nod to Jefferson fantastic writing skills.

I'm not decrying his merits or anything. Just pointing out that political dynasties aren't exactly unheard of in our country.

you are absolutely correct in that, as well.

Anyone with a rudimentary knowledge of American history knows there were previous family political 'dynasties' (Adams, Roosevelt, Kennedy, Bush)...even Eleanor Roosevelt (Hillary's idol) probably would've run, if able.

My objection to Chelsea Clinton isn't because there haven't been political dynasties in the past. My objection is to the Clinton family in particular.

For decades, Clintons have kept dangling their crooked family members in our faces (only a "Bill's junk" reference if you choose to take it that way)...and Americans are no-longer swallowing what they keep trying to shove down their throats.

Even as the voters are currently retching out Hillary...and Bill is leaving a bad taste in the mouth's of new generations of voters, as they are discovering and learning (for the first time) his moral depravity...We're NOW hearing from them: "But...Wait!..There's MORE!!".

It's like going into Baskin-Robbins Ice cream and being offered a free sample of their new 'Pig Vomit Ripple'---and as you're gagging on that, the Soda Jerk behind the counter says "Wait!...This new 'Yak Diarrhea Swirl' is almost ready for you---you're gonna love it!"

Political fundraising apparently isn't Chelsea's bally wick.

Chelsea Clinton's fundraising FLOP: Soul Cycle event to raise money for Hillary a bust as $2,700 seats are offered for just $50 to fill bikes

Chelsea Clinton hosted her highly-hyped Soul Cycle fundraiser for her mother in New York City on Wednesday afternoon.

The $2,700-a-head event, which offered just 60 seats at the popular cycling studio's Tribeca location and promised guests a photo with Chelsea, was expected to sell out quick while raising some easy money for the Hillary Clinton campaign but was ultimately a flop.

Such a flop in fact that in the end some seats were being sold for just $50, roughly the same price it costs to take a regular Soul Cycle class.

I hear Chelsea is secretly planning a legal defense fundraiser event.

Never hurts to "think" ahead.

one would presume that this is her backyard. Her domain. I mean, for God's sake the event was held at a place where you can take classes on riding a bicycle. LOL....as a country guy, all i can do is shake my head at people paying $50 for someone to give a class on riding a bike.

City folk. LOL

In any event, it certainly doesn't help Chelsea's public image to be aligned so closely with her mom at this moment. Wayyyyy to much heat. They should have cancelled the event....but Chelsea is nothing more than a cog in a wheel on Hillary's political machine.

Chelsea's husband is already under investigation for getting special treatment from Hillary Clinton while she was Secretary of State.

Clinton-Mezvinski---A match made in political crime family heaven!

He's the son of former U.S. congressman Edward Mezvinsky and former U.S. congresswoman Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinsky, who also once ran for Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania. Interestingly, Congresswoman Mezvinsky was the deciding vote in passing President Clinton's then-controversial Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act.

Despite his public service, in 2001 Mezvinsky's dad pleaded guilty to 31 counts of fraud, involving almost $10 million. He was released from federal prison in 2008.

www.people.com...

Edward Mezvinski:

Beginning in the early 1990s, Mezvinsky started a wide variety of 419 scams. According to a federal prosecutor, Mezvinsky was conned by "just about every different kind of African-based scam we’ve ever seen."[10] The scams promise that the victim will receive large profits, but first a small down payment is required. To raise the funds needed to front the money for the fraudulent investment schemes he was being offered, Mezvinsky became himself a conman, tapping his network of former political contacts and dropping the name of the Clinton family to convince unwitting marks to give him money.[11]

In March 2001, Mezvinsky was indicted and later pleaded guilty to 31 of 69 felony charges of bank fraud, mail fraud, and wire fraud.[12] Nearly $10 million was involved in the crimes. Shortly after his indictment, he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, but the judge at his trial disallowed a mental illness defense.[5] He served his time at Federal Prison Camp, Eglin.[13] Mezvinsky, Federal Bureau of Prisons # 55040-066, was released in April 2008.[14] He remained on federal probation until 2011, and as of 2010 still owed $9.4 million in restitution to his victims.[15]

I have read McCullough's biography on John Adams and he went through some serious sh*t trying to help establish the fledgling United States.

Knowing you get sea sick would you board a boat for France in the middle of winter storm season? Actually they couldn't make it to France and landed in Portugal. He then rode a mule in the dead of winter through the Pyrenees to get to France. That's just one example of the kind of courage and sacrifice John Adams made for his country.

His son was even more qualified to be President than himself. John Q. had traveled most of Europe while accompanying his father. Adams graduated Harvard and was fluent in several languages. He would go on to serve under President Washington, become Ambassador to several countries, served in both the Senate and House. Quite possibly the most brilliant and intellectual of all American Presidents.

Just skim over this, he wasn't liked by his own party for daring to differ on various issues but the man and his accomplishments were very impressive.
