Speech that has no resistance has no need to be defended.

Therefore it stands to reason that only speech that might not be popular or might be nasty, would fall under this.

I still stand by those principles, I despise racists and bigots and hateful people.

But the minute one persons right to express themselves is stifled , it is only a matter of time before others are as well.

People like that shackles themselves and braid their own ropes to hang themselves.

I've often seen it quoted or paraphrased and it's a political ideology I disagree with.

No, there will be no killing or threats. That I know of.

But if there is, oh well.

Charlie, there comes a time in all our lives when we absolutely stop trying to understand and sympathize with and make internal allowance for the positions of other people PARTICULARLY when we have examined the facts and come to our own conclusions. I think you may have had that epipany epiphany or you're getting really close to it. Great isn't it? LOL.

Besides the "I'll die for your right to say it" schtick is by and large (though not always) pure blatant hypocrisy.

The folks who say it have usually spent 20 minutes telling you why you're wrong, anyway.
