Only in two or three chapters of "antiquities of the Jews"... and most think they're forgeries...

Though anything is possible I suppose...

There is nothing from the First century that actually mentions Jesus... no fragments, no documents... nothing

excluding POSSIBLY a single fragment of the gospel of Mark which was apparently recovered from a mask recently...

All we really have from the NT is Just copies of copies of copies... and fragments of copies

How do you reconcile this?

Personally, I reject the whole thesis of the Bible in its entirety. I don't believe in a creator god, an anthropomorphic character flying around in a pillar of fire, ordering murders, causing global floods, carpet bombing cities..........a creator god who incarnated into a human body in order to sacrifice its flesh and blood to itself to save mankind from its own wrath. Nope.....

How do people still call themselves Christians and reject the violent, malevolent god of the OT? I don't know how they justify their position individually. It's personal, I suppose, between them and THEIR god. And even though I will hold their hypocritical feet to the fire, through debate in threads like this and that, I will say that at least they're they're rejecting obvious abomination. I just wish that they could also reject New Testament hell fire and damnation as well as looking forward the total destruction of earth as we know it upon the return of angry god and his army. It's a type of insanity in my opinion.

I certainly understand your position.

The NT is far more barbaric than the OT.

But I'm not interested in pursuing that topic at this time personally.. I leave it to dedicated specialists who out of the inherent goodness of their heart, try to rescue the victims and mitigate the damage to nature, truth and beauty.

There little to no violence in the NT, but people are being killed all over the place in the OT

The New Testament is a condensed version of the Old Testament, with Jesus playing the role of the character "Israel".

the OT is supposed to be writing about things that happened, or should happen if certain things are done or practiced...

Theres really not much violence in the NT... besides Jesus whipping some ass and perhaps a few other instances lol

I use to be atheist until I discovered Gnosticism, it just has a way of explaining creation that makes sense to me, and being a conspiracy buff the idea of the archons made a lot of sense as well as being behind the shadow government.
