3. Or we are the rat in a cage, which suddenly started talking.
Every scientist would poop their pants.

4. Or we are an IT experiment suddenly talking back.

I have no hopes the big heads are anything but what you say.
If they're smart, they realise now, they are not the top of the food chain.

That's the thing isn't there a better way to look at it?
If we are in the gardening hands of the universe,
Won't it analyse and take care of their crops instead of
Poisoning the soil beneath and every being that comes close?

Oh wait... maybe it doesn't.

No that's not what I meant,
Natural causes, the preferable way to die.
We're talking about a many generations process.
The military takes sacrifices,
I would make one year public service mandatory,
But besides that, while and after,
Your natural lifespan is from a great value for me.

Add: that sounds weird and wrong. How does one say that? I respect and value your life?

Naw I'm with you on the 6 billion.

Natural attrition is preferrable.

But the 1% may have other plans.

The "Universe" has infinite worlds to play with.

Only the "true locals" care about individual worlds.

So some of the factions can afford slash and burn.

They may have.
But that's maybe just the downside of education, logic and economic rationality?
As it's perfectly understandable how they came to that conclusion.
We should counter that with unpredictable, playfull, emotional intuition.
To show them their mistake.

Because game theory has never been proven to be right.
Humans don't act like predicted. Except the caste of warriors, maybe.

The video is back a couple pages. You Enjoy The Ride and because it has good a beat, you can even dance to it! No need for labels you just let it ride. When it all settles down and you are closer to the shore you turn your board back out to sea to catch the next set. Locals Only!

TV reception... at least is not an Emergency Broadcast. People out there are already freaking out. It is funny to take things apart to see how they work because I never get the thing back together again! U-tube is useful in that way (seeing somebody else take things apart). I stay away because of the "me" generation detritus but there are some cool stuff (Feynman's lectures that BASS posted here, for example). What is the frequency Kenneth?! (Makes that strange comment make more sense now, hehe).

The lawn is wet but that is prolly because I woke up in a pool of my own urine again this morning! (Hey, makes the idiom "all things being equal" apropos).

Gosh... sometimes the synchronicity is so very poignant ... the language of the ineffable ... whatever.

Was listening to "Cancer for the Cure" - turned it off to answer a call from a friend - they reported they were newly diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer but they were amazed they had made it this far in life and were ready for the sucky ride to come, glanced at the computer and Woody's "Inoperable" thread popped up as I was looking at it and someone walking by says "something, something CANCER something" and looky there, the TV in the background has an ad for the American Lung Association... all in the space of five minutes?

Can't make this crap up...

Sorry about your friend and the news. ((electronic bro hugs))

In the Hegelian dialectic of ying-yang there should exist some non-sucky news you are experiencing. The third stage... if you are interested in trying is... can you control this?

My brush with the strange has me feeling that the answer is "sort of". At the very least you can learn how to ignore or down play the effect until such time as you can properly "deal with it". For each of us, our limiters (cranium wet-ware), work differently but for me caffeine and/or beer can intensify the effect. I even activated it once by nothing more than by doing my daily routine (involves a shot of espresso, which is how I figured this out). When being a hard core vegan I would get "a buzz" from eating really healthy meals.

So, not sure what does the trick for you. But if you are willing to try, you can report back on your findings? It can be frightening (to some) to be "stuck in the moment" while others, we just let it ride.

(shakes finger at Peeple, *tsk.tsk*)

[ETA: So there was me, Peeple, and dear bad "brains" here. Anybody else feeling the tug of synchronicity? Just wondering]

Hug accepted, but the friend is the one really needing one... their experience in this world is arcing to unbelievably horrid, like so many others. Strange that thinking about that might "bring it to you" but not dwelling on bad things makes one a shallow idjit!

I believe I've had a mental glimpse/taste of your 'control' before.. .many, many times... and reclaiming that feeling is tough, especially for a prolonged time as the brain is so full of trash and neurosis (well, mine is).

But yup, it seems what you (and others) assert is so... in which case the synchs might be one's awareness doing the strange coincidences and not some external force... and if that external something is a tulpa, then there's no difference between external/internal anyway... gee it's tough trying to explain this stuff in a common language!

I wish I had a reliable way to access that method of control, but as I'm a lazy half-assed magician I want a method with no gimmicks. no robes, no strange languages... I know that stuff is simply window dressing to convince the mind , but still find simple, prolonged control elusive WHEN I THINK ABOUT IT ... but I can usually get in the "flow" and nudge it, but when my logical self starts analyzing, then zing.. .gone.

*drums fingers on desk* so dam much to figure out, yet everything is so simple!

I had good response going! I went to delete a word and was bounced out to the main Chit-chat forum level! Wtf?

So it had mainly to do with language and experience not having a common ground to communicate experiences between us. I have stated it earlier but this time was a little more funny. Dude-surfer speak vs. clinical speak does nothing to explain the 'trippy' notion of being 'stuck in the moment' feels like. And that is just one experience. Try to say something meaningful about invisible external others you may as well walk down to the corner and hand out free word salad to the passers-by! This is frustrating to state the obvious.

Now I am late for the beer and sports bonding at the local pub house. Oh well, it appears it does not matter what I want... or maybe, "miss the train, wait for the next one while the original jumps the tracks" type thing will happen. If I take a turn for better I will report back (hehe)!

[ETA: This is where I was explaining that I have Eddie Vedder in my ears to drown out the noise while composing this post. When I tried to erase a wrong lyric it kicked me out! "All these twisted thoughts that spin round my head, I'm spinning, Oh, I'm spinning!" made me think of The Police and me swimming in synchronicity. ETA II: I started the above and hit "replay" and heard "All five horizons revolved around her son -- Like the earth to the sun. Now the air I tasted and breathed has taken a turn" - Black. Many miles away...]

Hand out free word-salad? Hmmm... You might be on to something.

Of course it's the brain! Metis, (good advice) was one with nature as a fly she was swallowed and got pregnant in zeus (the ruler) head, hephaestus (the lame smith) had to smash his head with a hammer and out came athena (wisdom, war, law, justice, art, craft)!
Oh it's so obvious!

Did you ever ask yourself what happens to the brain during a religious experience ?

The parietal lobe decreases his activity.
Responsible for perception, integration of sensory input, you turn that of, yet you are still focusing on "something".
On what?
And why does decreasing frontal lobe activity (no focus) result in "speaking in tongues"?
Where are the words coming from?
Metis!

Ha! Caesar-Word-Salad, enjoy.

Not just with a hammer, a hammer and a wedge. The triangle is the vector of the force. Zeus's head gets #ed, both literally, and figuratively.

Anaana, if it was a “black” triangle we are all doomed!

Oh, OK, I will state the obvious, because then “we’ve come full… circle”!

I was going on to BD about simile and methaphors and said (a reconstruction but not by much): Besides myths and religon the best we can do is make up new words (neologisms). But that tends to add more ambiguity to the conversation instead of a clearer understanding. It becomes like Bugs Bunny, “abracapocus” and “pocuscadabra” and you never know what you’re gonna end up with!

Peeple, to further bake your noodle, I was at the big box store and saw a copy of Bulfinch's Mythology and bought a copy. It is sitting under my quantum mechanics book on my couch probably spinning out entangled myths for the pleasant symbionts to make them want to “spooky action at a distance” to our brains and try to explain what the stories are! Makes as much sense as anything else!

And BD, the snowbirds from down there, some of them at least, are here on vacation!

Yeah, a month or so ago. But they are still sitting there together! I usually read during the commercial breaks but lately it has been that d@mn banjo that has captured my interest! I will play something on the guitar, swap over the banjo and figure it out there. Tons of fun (at least for me, probably driving the new neighbor insane).

You read during commercial breaks? That would drive me crazy, I probably would mix it all together and suddenly there is a spaceship in game of thrones...

Music
though my guitar suffers a bit lately, I just can't find the peace of mind to focus on something wordless.

DVR is your friend. Sometimes I let 20-30 minutes spool up. Then I can skip the next set of commercials. The story remains more compact without solicitations for Viagra or shampoo.

TV! Yet again. That is a strange theme over the past few days. Turn the channel...

[ETA: Whoa! my mouse just did a lap on the screen! I did a preview, went to close, it slid to the Recycle Bin, I tried moving back to close the preview pane, it went to bottom center, I was able to close! Curiouser and curiouser...]

Enjoying the (t)witty repartee' and had to add some mouse weirdness of my own...

my own dam# cursor (word play unintentional and funny, as in 'darned curse-r') has taken on an occasional (veeery rare) life of its own... moving a quarter screen length as I move my hand towards it (and no, the mouse laser doesn't seem to be bleeding or reading a reflection, or anything) and sometimes (well, twice) doing small, lazy circles when I glance at it ... no movement of the desk that I'm aware of and I even changed mice as I thought (logically) that it was a mechanical issue ... when it happened on my laptop, I gave up and blamed "the Other."

Hasn't happened in a few days and so will melt away as another transitory weirdness...

and the "snowbirds" are smarties ... set to hit 117 or more this weekend... nah, carbon emissions ain't nuthin.

We hit 78 °F here in Anchortown! That is f# hot for a city with a large body of water (basically an isthmus) surrounding it at 61° north! Nobody, but hotels, grocery stores. movie theaters, and restaurants really have air conditioning in this neck of the words (hehe). And who wants to be indoors on days like these? We put up with six months of bad weather just for this and the best we can do is complain! Ah the human experience!

We have sunlight starting at around 4:10 AM lasting until after 11:30 PM so, yeah, throw heat on top of that--d@mn uncomfortable! But egads man, 117 is just cruel! Time to put on your thawb and sheik yerbooti!
