I can understand why a concerned citizen

Bloomberg isn't a concerned citizen.

He's a power hungry authoritarian. Trump is just an idiot.

According to the article, his advisers tell him he has until sometime in March to decide.

Politically it makes no sense for Bloomberg to run, is he vying for part of Trumps NY votes?

Is this an old rivalry between Bloomberg and Trump?

Is Bloomberg just adding more wall street to battle Sanders anti wall street logic?

Bloombergs running would be a waste of time and money, imho.

A big establishment player like Bloomberg, will likely give more credence to Sanders campaign.

I think he is just running his mouth and getting the Bloomberg brand some free advertising.
Hell, why not? Trump can make fun of handicapped people and is still #1 amongst repubs. Lots of free advertising for his brand.

The friggin guy wanted to ban sodas FFS...

No. He did not want to ban sodas. He wanted to change the size they were sold in, as a deterrent to 'big gulps', however, one could just buy several smaller ones. I thought it was trying to impart common sense to people who think it is a good idea to drink a liter of soda in one sitting without actually stopping them.

Otherwise, I don't know much about him.

That is just not true.

The logo of a salt shaker, meant to warn consumers of high sodium content in food, appears on an Applebees menu on Dec. 1, in New York City. The new sodium warning is the result of a city-wide law effecting restaurants with 15 or more locations and lets consumers know that an item has 2,300 milligrams of sodium or more in it.

Nope, he wanted to cut the level of salt in all restaurant food by 25%. If it failed, it was because of a revolt by restaurant chefs threatening to quit New York which has a thriving restaurant scene.

Ok, so that is still not banning salt.

You did say 'oh goodie, the man who banned sodas and salt'. The statement is untrue.

The plan, for which the city claims support from health agencies in other cities and states, sets a goal of reducing the amount of salt in packaged and restaurant food by 25 percent over the next five years.

25% over 5 years

I don't see why this is a BAD thing. I don't think the salt legislation passed, but it is one of the more sane proposed ideas I have seen come from a city government.

Restaurants began posting nutrition information and I think the saturated fat reduction legislation did pass.

He might pick up some Clinton supporters, but the Sanders supporters will see Bloomberg as part of the problem, not a solution.

Go Bloomberg...

...That is go away!!!

Corporate fail!!!

That's a good point. Divide the Clinton Supporters to ensure a Sanders Primary win.

We know Palin is seeking attention for her failing brand, but Bloomberg?

Could Bloomberg be reacting to Clintons email snafu and it's likely disqualifying her, thus giving Bernie Sanders the primary?

Running as an independent Bloomberg gets out of a primary challenge, thus allowing him to be the defender of corporate Democrats and the 1% against the anti wall street socialist Sanders! LOL's

I see a corporate fail!

Go Bernie!

The OP is right; Bloomberg would end up giving the election to the GOP.

His supper anti-gun philosophy would make him anathema to Republicans.

The only way the Dem’s would survive is if Trump gets screwed and runs as an independent himself.

Now that would be an unprecedented election: Two billionaires and a Latino (Cruz) and a criminal major candidate.

Of course unless another GOP guy like Kasich or Rubio sneaks in.

Why do you assume that it is only Republicans that believe in the 2nd amendment? Tell Democrats in Pennsylvania that they may lose their ability to own firearms!

Just goes to show how the MSM spreads enough lies enough times, eventually it will catch on?

I am surprised he isn't running on the Democratic ticket. After all Bernie Sanders isn't a Democrat, but yet the DNC is pretending he is.....

Bloomberg may come up with some crazy legislation but, he is not dumb. He is a businessman. There is always a reason, and, I will bet just by this article being released you will see changes in polling for other DNC front runners. This is to see how voters will react.

There is NO way that he could enter and gain the ground as needed. He is the epitome of "NY values" that Cruz described. On the other hand, behind closed doors and not an official backing, Guliani said he would vote for Trump over Cruz...as well as Dole. These are established people and one ran NY for quite a long time and turned it around. He knows Donald well.

This is a ruse. Anything to get people to not ask why they are postponing releasing info in Hillary till after Iowa.

Just me observance....

Oh hell no!
Have people gone completely mad?
Bloomberg should have been publicly hung by the people of N.Y.C. by now with all he's done! I truly don't understand how he wasn't. He should be in prison at the very least and now I'm seeing posts supporting this on other news sites.

Why? Why? Why?! can't we just get some decent candidates with the intelligent and promising young people that graduate from our colleges? Why do we get pulled into considering filth like this?

I agree, the Bug, I mean Bloombug enacted what is now in NY almost a dictatorship, if this man is even allowed to be close to have any power in congress America will have the constitution amended, he has no respect of the nations laws and on top of that he will create his own version of the Congress against gun like he tried to do with , “Mayors Against Illegal Guns” (MAIG) and is not illegal guns alone what he is after, he is a toad, in 2014 he spend 50 million dollars on his gun agenda alone.

I don't think that America will want this bug for president.

Hillary is just a multi-MILLIONaire...don't think she's a "Billionaire" yet...unless she's already stashed that missing $6Billion from the State Dept...in her offshore account.
