It looks like Bernie, Hillary and the DNC may be getting some more competition very soon.
Sensing disarray and uncertainty in the Democratic Party, specifically due to Hillary's political and legal problems...combined with a deep held DNC belief that Sanders is un-electable... Michael Bloomberg may jump in as an Independent.

IMO, this would further divide the Democrat vote and put the final nail in the coffin of the Democrat Party's run for the White House in 2016.
No Independent has ever won the White House...but, things are pretty crazy this time around...so, who knows,...there's a first time for everything.

This from the New York Times today:

Bloomberg, Sensing an Opening, Revisits a Potential White House Run

Michael R. Bloomberg has instructed advisers to draw up plans for a potential independent campaign in this year’s presidential race. His advisers and associates said he was galled by Donald J. Trump’s dominance of the Republican field, and troubled by Hillary Clinton’s stumbles and the rise of Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont on the Democratic side.

Mr. Bloomberg, the billionaire former mayor of New York City, has in the past contemplated running for the White House on a third-party ticket, but always concluded he could not win. A confluence of unlikely events in the 2016 election, however, has given new impetus to his presidential aspirations.

Mr. Bloomberg, 73, has already taken concrete steps toward a possible campaign, and has indicated to friends and allies that he would be willing to spend at least $1 billion of his fortune on it, according to people briefed on his deliberations who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss his plans. He has set a deadline for making a final decision in early March, the latest point at which advisers believe Mr. Bloomberg could enter the race and still qualify to appear as an independent candidate on the ballot in all 50 states.

He has retained a consultant to help him explore getting his name on those ballots, and his aides have done a detailed study of past third-party bids. Mr. Bloomberg commissioned a poll in December to see how he might fare against Mr. Trump and Mrs. Clinton, and he intends to conduct another round of polling after the New Hampshire primary on Feb. 9 to gauge whether there is indeed an opening for him, according to two people familiar with his intentions.

Mr. Bloomberg’s aides have sketched out one version of a campaign plan that would have the former mayor, a low-key and cerebral personality, deliver a series of detailed policy speeches, backed by an intense television advertising campaign that would introduce him to voters around the country as a technocratic problem-solver and self-made businessman who understands the economy and who built a bipartisan administration in New York.

He's about as likeable has Hillary and would certainly divide the party, giving the president to Trump or Cruz. Of course that depends on if anyone on the right runs independently as well. We're going to have to give this thing a couple of months into March to really see how it's going to play out on either side.

He might pick up some Clinton supporters, but the Sanders supporters will see Bloomberg as part of the problem, not a solution.

Go Bloomberg...

...That is go away!!!

What would be the point?

Hes a typical anti-gun, big government, run your life, tax and spend liberal... Hows that different from the 2 socialist Democrats currently running?

The friggin guy wanted to ban sodas FFS...

Billionaire vs billionaire?

I could care less about Trump, but lets be honest, Trump would verbally crush this clown.

There seems to be no shortage of applicants for the job of HNIC Head Narcissist in Charge this political season. Why not Bloomberg throwing his hat into the ring?

Internet high five...
He won't take that many votes away from Bernie. And this late in the game it won't matter. Sure he can buy his way onto the ballot ala Ross Perot but the election only has room for one billionaire. Add more than one and fatigue and apathy sets in...kind of like add more than one Skull and Bones member and no one cares anymore.

The most anti-liberty guy in the US, Michael Bloomberg, thinks he's gonna have a chance at the presidency?

Nevermind his confiscation of gun goals. This guy is such an authoritarian asshole he doesn't think it's possible for you, the individual, to make sound choices on the size of soda you wanna buy from 7-11.

Maybe this is one of those alternate timeline things, but I could swear he ran before...and was quite unpopular.
Anyone else remember?

He should ask to be on the ticket, this way if Bloomberg wins Moore can be Secretary of Lard.

No, he talked running Third Party in 2012 but eventually endorsed Dear Leader.

Well, you see, I thought that was somewhat strange. He always seemed to be a little bit of a puppet master, just wanting the play to go his way every day. That being said, it is clear that while Americans certainly can choose the beverage size and type they want without too much problem, it is pretty clear that they couldn't pick a president worth a crap if a gun was to each of their heads, at least if the polls are anything to go by.

I mean, really? Trump? REALLY? For so many reasons, I can understand why a concerned citizen might want to run a counter campaign, since there is little proper opposition to that rug headed blow hard. It is just a shame that no matter which way you slice it, who ever gets in will be one of the worst people for the job. They are the only ones who ever apply, after all.

With primaries around the corner isn't it a little to late for Bloomy to run?

Politically it makes no sense for Bloomberg to run, is he vying for part of Trumps NY votes?

Is this an old rivalry between Bloomberg and Trump?

Is Bloomberg just adding more wall street to battle Sanders anti wall street logic?

Bloombergs running would be a waste of time and money, imho.

A big establishment player like Bloomberg, will likely give more credence to Sanders campaign.
