The autopsy should show the cause of death. My bet is pneumonia unless he tried to kill himself and succumbed after a while; loss of blood can do that. Maybe the guy was really sick and the staff wasn't aggressive about treatment, knowing what would happen to him, eventually.

I think criminals, especially, murderers and rapists should be sentenced to human experimentation.

Get them sick and test new medicine on them, perform new surgeries etc. It doesn't have to be torture but at the very least they would get to give back to society in a useful way. Serial killers, pedophiles, rapists have no place in society. We pay to lock them up, they only further take away from those who are living a lawful contributing life in modern society.

Let's make use of them, why waste them by killing them.

It takes a lot of air to kill someone that way. You'd be surprised how many small air bubbles you get when you're getting IV meds.
