Have a yard sale. Charge $1.00 per CD and you can make a little cash.

8 track!!! Gotta love'em.
Sadly, some of these kids wouldn't know what one was if it bit'em.. Probably think it's a book and throw it away.

You could also donate them to your local library.

Or my local library since I do not pay late fees (Mason perk).

There are many craft projects you could look into, like some really clever ways to make lamps out of CDs, but the ideas in the video below may strike your fancy.

I still buy CD's. I do put them on my iPod thing, but other than that, it's CD's all the way. I want the whole thing, the package, the CD, the liner notes, the artwork.

I'm in the same boat, I have about 300 cds and about 400 DVDs.
Was selling stuff on ebay for a while... may have to just bulk list a load.
I'll see what sells - it's just so time consuming.

I still have my CD's and I plan to keep them. Over the past fifteen years due to various computer glitches and one horrible week in which two computers and an external hard drive failed in the SAME WEEK, I have had to re-rip my library three times. If I had done away with my CD's I would have been SOL.

Keep them.

I will agree with your post 100% i thought i was being a nice guy giving hundreds of CD's and DVD's away to a friend of mine and had 3 external hard drives and a computer fail , just after my friend passed away and his kids gave them all to a charity shop aaaaaaaaaahh

Wow. 400? Really?

Who knew there were that many DVDs in the Co-ed Pool Party series.

*sigh*

I know about both of those things. I have a rare copy of Blupblup's Red Light Adventure.
