So the Turks haven't apologised or shown any regret for shooting down a Russian Jet. But have made a statement that if Russia and N.A.T.O. forces continue to act independently then these things will occur. The Statement is interesting as Turkey is a member of N.A.T.O Regarding the bases they seem to say they are unacceptable that close to their border. If they are unacceptable are we looking at some angst with regards to Turkey and N.A.T.O if so the statement seems to include the new American Base, as well as the Russian one.

Furthermore With the Americans accepting the Kurds as allies, and taking over the base, Turkey as a sworn enemy of the Kurds, seems to show a split in the N.A.T.O alliance as far as Turkey is concerned. Has Turkey been shafted?

here's a graphic showing the location of the airstrip in Syria (Kurd controlled Syria)

here's a follow up report:

the USA upgrade of the airstrip is for helicopter use...& possibly Drones because a command-control center is being built on the former decreped crop-duster airfield...

the USA/NATO taking over land in Syria is just following the continental land-grabs by the USA government here in the Pacific-Northwest...
I see a good escalation in pushing=shoving between Turkey and the Kurds with the USA playing these two neighbors against one-another as 'equal' allies in the region...
