I've read through this entire thread and the only solid conclusion that can be made is that the majority have absolutely no clue what socialism is.

It's like a bad record that keeps repeating itself. "Socialism is bad". "Obama is a socialist".

I think Brit hit the nail on the head when he said you wouldn't know socialism if it jumped up and bit you in the ass. Everything most of you know about socialism you learned from Right-Wing propaganda. In that case, everything that is not within their agenda is considered socialist.

Inciting Marx and Engles, really put the fear of those red commie sob's into conversation, truly it just makes you look foolish.

It's called fear-mongering! Lol's

Except for the fact that Bernie regurgitates Marx/Engels philosophy and points to CAPITALIST Europe as an aside to make his 'point'...

Interesting.

Could you provide an example of Sander's quoting Marx/Engels philosophy?

Then define Socialism. Culturally and economically. Let's put your knowledge to the test.

Is a centrally planned AGENCY, which touts "for the greater good of the people", used by tax payer funds...SOCIALIST in model...or CAPITALIST?

Balls in your court....GO

It doesn't matter if not a single one of his ideas gets through congress. Everyone expects him to get stone walled anyway.

What Bernie represents more than anything is the ability of the people to say "screw you" to super-pacs and big business interests. It's a start.

I'd rather Bernie, who cares about the people, getting in without corporate bribes, be blocked at every turn by congress, but wake us all up to the power of our vote to take the power out of the hands of citizen's united and return it to us.

I don't care if some government stooge is more capable of getting their policies passed, since any policy they pass is for their corporate masters, not us.

I want Bernie to win because he has integrity, he doesn't flip flop, and right or wrong he stands by his ideals and refuses to be a puppet for the oligarchy.

Did you vote for McCarthy????

You're channelling McCarthy perfectly, r u reincarnated????

I think it is time to forget the 50's and embrace the needs of the 21st century, not 20th century fox!

It is time to write our future, or suffer the ever increasing problems of a modern society trying to live in the past.

Edit: Mods this was not a personal attack, but just calling it the way it looks.

Lying is an act of desperation, lying is used when one lacks facts.

What scares me is crony capitalism, and oligarchies, which the US of A has become.

Bernie Sanders:

When you have the top 1 percent of the country owning 38 percent of the financial wealth, when you have billionaires now able to contribute unlimited amounts of money into the political process, when you have 95 percent of all new income going to the top 1 percent in recent years, I think one can say that reflects an oligarchic society.

AND YET.....not one of those "1%" Bernie speaks of (in his moronic bumper sticker fashion) hurts the average American as much as local, state, and Federal GOVERNMENT.

Don't you get it? It is those 1%ers that can manipulate local, state and federal government to pass legislation that benefits them, not the average Joe.

That seems to be the big disconnect here for both sides of this debate. It's not that the 1% is evil and it's not because the little guy is lazy. It's the manipulation of laws and policies that favor one group over the other, and then people try to blame big government without looking at who owns the damned governments.

I read your whole post and thought "This is the new America...Million more like this and we're all gonna be washed out."

Awesome that you're a "Believer" in Bernie, without a care of whether he's WRONG OR RIGHT...because he "cares about the people".

Says who? Him? His policies don't CARE...and policy is what matters, not the feel goodies emotions and warm heart strings.

Think with history and logic, not emotion, try it.

1) MILLIONS OF MIGRANTS in Europe right now changing the entire political and social landscape overnight = Government decisions

2) Yellen almost caused a systemic meltdown with her badly times rate increase stunt.

3) Bernanke almost did the same in his day

4) Moodys was colluding with Government for better ratings and lied which caused unseen risks and balance sheets in red, before the knowledge of it got out and hit the market and wiped MILLIONS of people out.

5) Government regulates and taxes low income and middle class to death until there is no organic growth.

OUR GOVERNMENT is the problem. yes, Corporatism is rampant too, but WHO is payed by our tax dollars to protect us?

Our politicians are, and they aren't listening. And when they DO jump in the mix and try to 'centrally plan" and give us what they think we need, they make things exponentially WORSE.

Really?
There's plenty. Do an ATS search for Bernie Sanders and Democratic Socialim. Beyond that, do a general search for those terms.

You've been given all of the information. Learn, or don't...up to you.

His policies will never get passed, remember? And at least he isn't an oligarchal puppet, I KNOW they don't give two #s about me, period, end of story. Half their policies are lies and bull# to get our vote.

I'm certainly not voting for an oligarchal puppet.

Would rather the lame duck president we the people choose than the one who can get stuff done that I know is meant to do nothing more than screw me up the ass to make his puppet masters happy.

Tell you what, once we sap the strength out of super-pacs and politicians actually are dependant on us rather than the oligarchy for success, then I'll care about policy. There's a far more important war going on here. None of the politicians are anything but full of #. Bernie at least, is not corporate bought, that alone is worth it's weight in gold if he gets in currently.

Are you really that afraid?

If so why?

We have congress and the supreme court, it's called checks and balances for a reason!

Receptive to WHAT? Your unbridled ignorant BULLCRAP about Bernie Sanders?

I've contributed more direct information to this thread than you and him put together and all you have are bumper sticker platitudes and CANNOT debate the economic facts.

People are tired of the hand waving and platitudes to "Socialism" with these Sophomoric answers and comebacks.

People are hip to the game more and more. So talk about my 'tone' all you want, nobody CARES

I'm a socialist. I could definitely give you a breakdown of my approach and beliefs about socialism, but that is not something that can be easily summarized as a quick snippet to satisfy your need for instant gratification.

It is a complex issue that goes well beyond the approach you have chosen to take towards it.

I would be willing to take the time to give a comprehensive explanation of socialism, but I fear your tone indicates that it would be a waste of my time.

Cmon....let's hear YOUR philosophy on the matter with respect to Bernie Sanders....

Why don't you show us even the most cursory understanding if you are such a Mensa member on the matter.

Then if you're such an 'expert' why not interject and DEFEND your belief? I've given you 3 attempts to do so, but you won't (can't). All you keep saying is "Right Winger" and "I like Bernie"

Name a concept he has given which is nuanced and ANSWERS the current political problems.

Enough with ME....ANSWER THE QUESTIONS

I didn't bring up your "tone."

I'm just sad that you are so dug in that you can't accept enough new input to form a more educated opinion.
And what's even sadder is that you don't take advantage of the resources that are presented to you, but continue to attack people who know what they're talking about.

Anyway - take a deep breath and relax your shoulders......
I'm done.
