19.6 trillion divided by 10 equals $1.96 trillion more per year in taxes. Divide that by the population of 318 million and that equals out to about $6.16 more per person per year in taxes.

But let's be generous and cut that number in half to 160 million people since not everyone pays income tax (children/elderly), that still only equals out to about $12.32 more in taxes per person per year. Oh the humanity!

Or am I doing the math wrong here?

Your math is way off... but I've never accused liberals of being good at math.

$19,600,000,000,000 trillion
1,600,000,000,000 per year
122 million federal tax payers in US so...

1,600,000,000,000 / 122,000,000 = $16,065 increase in taxes per year.

Keep in mind that the bulk of the taxes paid are actually paid by the top wage earners, so the real effect is more pronounced.

Um. ?

It's 19 Trillion over ten years, I believe. Divide the 19 Trillion by 10 first, and then divide by the tax-paying population, and you will end up with $16.07 (rounded up) per tax paying family, per year.

Regarding posting all day... I am a machine. I run a business, I post between customers and phone calls to suppliers or from customers, and in my down time I watch documentaries, post on ATS, and drink an awful lot of tea.

It is called multitasking, and it improves adaptability and speed of focus shift, which is good exercise for the mind.

So you want to totally remove private organizations and make the US government the Healthcare provider? You do not see what could go wrong there?

No.

I want the US government to oversee a UHC coverage plan and open hospitals where and when needed. That would be rare though. Private healthcare providers would still exist.

OMG. I watched the debate. I have watched ALL of the debates.

Now - source your claims. It is easy to find transcripts and articles that quote the things the candidates said....and videos and video clips from the actual debates......

I pay attention. You have made the claims - you show your work/evidence.

Not FoxNews or WorldNetDaily - no - show the actual transcripted parts - the videos and audio captured as they were happening.

I've already gone out of my way to give you the info that you asked for.

Lemme tell ya something. I'm barely keeping up with this thread as it is, as I'm insanely exhausted from the FLU, got up at 6 am to work, and am almost falling over in bed.

I told you before, there are HUNDREDS of videos to go through and the keywords didn't show the debate it was from.

I'm not going to sift through 100s of videos right now just for YOU. Take it how you want, call me a liar, call me a fraud...fine with me

If you are going to watch anything, I recommend this:

It's very disturbing and, if true, explains much of the intransigence that we encounter when attempting to make reasoned arguments in these shout fests with uninformed socioeconomic interventionists (socialists).

Thank you. I'll watch it when my eyeballs aren't like two daggers in my head..lol appreciate it

Side note...roughly 90% of those polled who lived through China's changeover to a Capitalist mode, say the prefer it over the Socialist days.

Maybe not this week though...

Bernie Sanders has supported Communist and Socialist regimes his who life.

Source this, please.

.... Vermont...that is his right.

Vermont

Wait. What?

Vermont is a communist and socialist regime?

However, he does not have that right to base the US on that type of platform and that is what he is doing.

He has a right to run for President, and to explain himself, and to state how his ideas would help the US.
Lots and lots of millions of people think he makes good sense.
Sorry you aren't one of them, but maybe if you keep working at it, you'll understand??

If they hadn't done such a piss poor job and been the source of so much individual debt and actually covered people when they needed... say for any freaking treatment your doctor says you need to save your freaking life, as opposed to what they will pay for with the patients own freaking money paid to them by the policy holder and usually their employer... for instance an exact targeted chemo course for a cancer diagnosis? Go ahead choose option B, because your insurance covers it but your doctor says it's 40% likely to get rid of the cancer instead of the 90% likelihood your doctor recommended. But hey... your kids need to college so...

Does anyone understand what they actually get in return for all the money they pay?

Toss it. Let the workers go to public sector. Maybe the new found economic cash flow can fund the innovations in technology and medicine we actually need?

You may as well ask if people actually want to get rid of the mafia.

Sanders' history of Socialist and Leftist activity is well documented on the internet. I'd link but I don't know how to from a phone.

Sanders has some very smart ideas...he understands economics in the Macro well enough.

He just can't explain the HOW on paper. Much of what he has said is an "If we do A....B should happen" theory. He's very aware of many of the problems, but his anewer to them tout GOVERNMENT as the Savior, stepping in, centrally planning widely, using laws that a CONGRESS would have to implement. A Congress which he doesn't like and doesn't like him.

And his broad stroke "reforms" would be like a NUKE economically in a contractual sense.

Correct, while I am vehemently opposed to all forms of totalitarianism, they are coming to the light, economically at least.

China is moving in the right direction away from totalitarianism and toward a market economy.

Is is stunning that we appear to moving away from a market economy and toward totalitarianism.

Our ancestors are rolling over in their graves.

Okay, I understand that. I wouldn't know how to do it from my phone, either.
Fair enough.

China's mistake is that it's corrupt government is in collusion with its young old and stupid Bankers in a totally unbridled system.

All hat and no cowboy those guys. And they see themselves as an island. Greedy and corrupt. They do better under Capitalim, but they don't know how to handle it.

It's okay, their chain is getting deservingly YANKED.

What? I think Bernie Sanders is a class A good guy. I believe him to be a good man.

His ideas are great, just not on paper. And Socialism is a pernicious ideology, culturally and economically.

I can hate people's ideas and still like them
