OMG. I watched the debate. I have watched ALL of the debates.

Now - source your claims. It is easy to find transcripts and articles that quote the things the candidates said....and videos and video clips from the actual debates......

I pay attention. You have made the claims - you show your work/evidence.

Not FoxNews or WorldNetDaily - no - show the actual transcripted parts - the videos and audio captured as they were happening.

I've already gone out of my way to give you the info that you asked for.

Who do you think you are to lecture anyone else on "logic"?

I used your own logic and definitions to show that you lack the understanding of basic concepts and facts.

I'm constantly amazed at how armchair know-it-alls are so arrogant in their beliefs that they would criticize others after not being able to properly debate their own assertions.

Well, I would assume that people would understand that it is ILLOGICAL for American taxpayers to fund the EDUCATION and HEALTHCARE of Illegal Immigrants....but lo and behold, it was touted by one of "yours' on this thread.

So yeah, my logic is in no doubt superior of THAT "logic"...any day...all day.

Who am I? The guy that's more logical than the completely amazing poster who suggested that INANE economic policy. That's who I am.

It wouldn't because the current state of the union is designed to protect big-money and corporate interests. A plan like this threatens that.

How does it threaten it? You are not giving an answer you are giving an opinion. Again, you are not providing any information you are simply telling everyone their 'logic' is incorrect or 'why should I explain' it to you.

Especially when you say things like this...

Lemme tell ya something. I'm barely keeping up with this thread as it is, as I'm insanely exhausted from the FLU, got up at 6 am to work, and am almost falling over in bed.

I told you before, there are HUNDREDS of videos to go through and the keywords didn't show the debate it was from.

I'm not going to sift through 100s of videos right now just for YOU. Take it how you want, call me a liar, call me a fraud...fine with me

You are right. The wealthy go to other countries where it is cheaper and safer. They do not care about Healthcare but they do care about jobs and having to pay fines or taxes.

So, when the companies are being taxes, and there is more unemployment with a healthcare reform system based on taxing workers. So, if there are less workers how are they going to make up that money...higher taxes.

I'm wondering why so many ATS users get to post all day. Retired, out of work, laid off...what the hell?

Retired with an advanced professional degree (no pension, no SS - just, squeezed out of the workforce), with a spouse (IT guy) who earns enough for both of us to maintain our home, have savings (do you have savings? We do!), and a reasonable balance of responsibility. I take care of the home, of him, of the pets, all the inventory, the cleaning, shopping, cooking, yard work, laundry, bill-paying, errand running. home maintenance (we hire out what we can't do ourselves)........
he goes to work.

We're doing just fine.

Oh. Sorry.
You don't feel well.

Your exhaustion might be partly due to spending the energy to be so angry and participating in this thread.
Go to sleep. Don't worry - we won't let the world fall apart while you recover.

Anyway - I already provided you with sources to debunk your misunderstanding of what Sanders is talking about.
There at your fingertips.....
By all means, don't bother yourself right now. Nono. We are a community. We can collectively work at getting to the truth. You just -- Get well! - if you're not healthy, what good are you to anybody?

Yes, my sickness means that Bernie Sanders is correct, and free healthcare for all...is WHAT we truly need.

And you showed me what again? Sources to debunk what? Where? What did you 'debunk'? Is my cold medicine wiping my memory? Remind me what you 'debunked' again....

That was an answer and my opinion. It has even compelled you to ask me to expand on it.

As far as how it threatens the current state, many things would have to be changed to incorporate something like a UHC system or single-payer. It threatens insurance companies and other aspects that have the power and money to lobby government. That's very "big" considering the current state of the union, is it not?

or 'why should I explain' it to you.

That is not what I said. I am controlling the parameters in which I engage in the conversation. If this thread continues to be as hostile, arrogant and pretentious as it has been, I will simply stop participating.

Buzzywigs, sorry, I was not saying you were born into poverty. I was speaking about illegals. I would not have said something like that to someone. My underlying message is our country needs help and more illegal immigration and more taxes will not help but only continue to hold one back.

As far as work, there are tons of homeless and people out of work that could, just as I remember as a kid ,do day labor. If we stop enabling and make people work and give them a wage, even if small, it helps. There are quite a few towns in the country that start the day and find people that will work to clean up, etc and it can empower many of those who find themselves homeless. There are drunks and drug addicts but that is not the majority.

Hope you feel better soon. Do you have health insurance? Might want to see a doctor if you're feeling so ill.

Healthcare companies? No.

Insurance companies? Yes. That is the end goal. It may not happen immediately, but it will happen eventually.

Okay. Thanks for clarifying.

I have never said there are not poor people, and I know people personally who are day-laborers. People who cruise the neighborhood and offer their skills (snow-plow, tree-trimming, yard work, mechanic, gutters, roof-repairs, painting etc) to us.

Years ago I worked at a flower shop. One of our regular customers was a guy who would come every day and buy a dozen long-stemmed roses ($12), and then go out and walk around and sell them for $2 each to lovebirds and tourists. He made a living that way.

I don't really understand what's so hard to understand about this. The entire medical care/supply/insurance industry has way too much power and extorts people for wanting to stay healthy and for getting sick. Some people would really rather pay upwards of $500/month plus a few thousand for their deductible, $30+/visit, absurd pharmaceutical prices, and pray that they only have a medical emergency once a year... plus whatever their employers pay that keeps their wages down and makes them do three people's jobs because they can't hire anyone else?

I rambled...

I offered you half a dozen links to sources that explain what Bernie Sanders is talking about, and what Democratic Socialism means.

Here you go again:
This was you:

Then 'educate' me. Instead of posting stupid wasteful personal FEEWINGS..

Let's do it.

This is what I posted:
Senator Bernie Sanders on Democratic Socialism in the United States

Bernie Sanders explains democratic socialism

Here’s How Bernie Sanders Explained Democratic Socialism

Democratic Socialism wiki

What is Democratic Socialism? Q & A

There ya go. Knock yourself out. Follow the crumbs and links that are provided in those articles to learn more.
Go on, I triple dog dare ya.
Here, I'll even show you the Questions you can get Answered from that last source:

Doesn't socialism mean that the government will own and run everything?

Hasn't socialism been discredited by the collapse of Communism in the USSR and Eastern Europe?

Private corporations seem to be a permanent fixture in the US, so why work towards socialism?

Won't socialism be impractical because people will lose their incentive to work?

Why are there no models of democratic socialism?

But hasn't the European Social Democratic experiment failed?

Aren't you a party that's in competition with the Democratic Party for votes and support?

If I am going to devote time to politics, why shouldn't I focus on something more immediate?

What can young people do to move the US towards socialism?

If so many people misunderstand socialism, why continue to use the word?

(You'll have to actually look at the article to see the Answers. Let me know when you're done.)

If you are going to watch anything, I recommend this:

It's very disturbing and, if true, explains much of the intransigence that we encounter when attempting to make reasoned arguments in these shout fests with uninformed socioeconomic interventionists (socialists).

My point to you (regarding the 1800's). Is that conservatives are not conservatives anymore. The reason we have lots of illegals in the country is one we never made a working temporary visas for central Americans to adress the situation and conservatives and Democrats both love to exploit the cheap labour and voting of illegal immigrants (not illegals voting but the children when they grow up). Conservatives have provided socialist policy for cooperate wellfare, they have given jobs and strengthened communist countries they got rid of the gold standard on and on.

How can you believe there is a free market when the people saying they are for a free market are destroying it?

I am just being a realist. It doesn't exist. The world is changing and just argueing about utopian situations whether conservative or liberal free market or socialist doesn't help the future one bit. Looking at the actual problems and coming up with solutions will require deep philosophical understanding. If we want to continue to have personal liberty we should protect that as much as possible while learning to compromise on monetary policy.

Again not sure why people think we can magically create jobs that machines now do. The jobs of the future will most likely be creative based. If we decide we want to survive as the human race we will expand into space where there can be jobs created to support the new industry.

Right now Bernie Sanders is bringing awareness to the corruption and money train in politics. That may be the most important thing a president can so at this moment. Get rid of super pacs and all the massive big money campaign spending would do more for this country than any economic policy a president thinks will fix the country.
