Here are some breathtaking sculptures made of ice. Sculptures from ice can be abstract or realistic and can be functional or purely decorative. Colored ice blocks are produced by adding dyes to the ice and can be carved as well. In some instances, clear ice and colored ice are combined to create a desired effect.

Take a peek at this amazing art......

Great finds!

I literally just finished working at an ice carving festival this week. I had build a 20 foot tall, 80 foot long ice slide.

It was an interesting experience

What tools are used to carve? Chainsaws? It would have to be some sort of shaving tool, a chisel would just create cracks.

I love these sculptures. Also sand sculptures but with ice there is so much more you can do.
Alas we have not much snow where I am at. But I had a lot of fun making a snow lion when we had a thick pack of fresh snow a few years ago.
This season we had maybe 1 millimetre of snow

Keeping my fingers crossed though

It depends on what you're doing, but yes, we used chainsaws, chisels, and saws. It's quite an interesting medium to work with. Not as solid as you expect, with the right tools.

Beautiful, too bad they'll melt away when it warms up, I think a year round kept cold ice museum for the smaller sculptures would be a cool idea.

We're headed to Frankenmuth at the end of the month but it looks like it might be warm.

I love the Jeb Bush Donald Trump Ice sculpture commercial. And Jeb bush is no longer a president! Well that commercial was good.
