Isn't this how socialism starts?

lol, yes. But of course after that you have the magical transition phase where every person on the globe is filled with love for fellow man, loses all greed and selfishness, doesn't want power or material things....and the sweet communism of everyone owning everything, to each according to need, and nobody is ever mean or unfair, ever again.

That would be about it. Socialism and communism were invented out of pure jealousy and overriding laziness, people (marx) who needed an excuse for their sloth and a method to steal something back from the ambitious and smart.

Yea he kind of had a history of being a moocher. LOL

"During the first half of the 1850s the Marx family lived in poverty in a three room flat in the Soho quarter of London. Marx and Jenny already had four children and two more were to follow. Of these only three survived. Marx's major source of income at this time was Engels who was trying a steadily increasing income from the family business in Manchester."

marx was a classic bum who didn't want to work, always looking for some kind of scam or patronage.

So he came up with the story that he was creating the answer to everything, needed people to fund him while he laid around doing that, and got the extra benefit of writing pure pap that also excused his own laziness.

Clever, yes. Dirty lazy bum, yes. It's kind of sad that a big chunk of the world worships the fool. You'd be better worshipping the philosophies of Charles Manson or Jim Jones.

Disperse to the middle class=eliminates their debt, gives them at the least comfortable average housing, eliminates unnecessary debt(mortgage, car payment, etc), means the middle class can actually have a chance to save and build towards a dream, or spend it as they wish and continue to stimulate the economy.

Most of the riches wealth is stacked as a mountain underneath Greedy hoarding dispositions.

hoarding resources would be criminal...if lawyers did their 'jobs'.

ill in the head in the worst way...who's sicker- the guy eating everyone's chocolate, or the guy who argues that it is acceptable he eat our chocolate?

Much sicker to always be screaming that people should be taking the other guy's chocolate....instead of working for an hour and buying some.

marx would kill all the owners and operators of the chocolate factories, and wonder why they didn't run themselves when the phase of everybody's / everything/s perfect love came about. I think this happened in South Africa, lol.

If you took all the money from the 62, and gave it to the lazy fools around the world, it would be back in the hands of the 62 in 5-10 years.

The lottery proves it every day. As do the NBA, NFL, NHL, and MLB.

There's a reason that the 1% has all the money....they earned it, and they aren't idiots, lazy, or more into the booze, dope, and flesh than being productive.... like the majority of people on the globe.

That would be about it. Socialism and communism were invented out of pure jealousy and overriding laziness, people (marx) who needed an excuse for their sloth and a method to steal something back from the ambitious and smart.

I'm not one of the 1%, but I have worked for 40 years to build a comfy retirement and happy family. So as soon as the flotsam and jetsam of society steal everything from the truly rich, they'll be looking for me next.

I disagree with pretty much everything you have said, but putting aside all your 'lazy idiots' for a second, what about people for example who have to spend every waking hour searching for scraps on a dump to sell just to be able to eat and survive, do you think they choose that life for themselves?

posted on Jan, 19 2016 @ 11:08 AM

Not everyone chooses such a life. Some do. Some, it's their own fault for bad choices and behaviors. A large % get there because of bad, fascist, dictatorial governments. A great part of the 3rd world deliberately keeps people poor and illiterate on purpose, to keep power.

All the hate and punishment of the peaceful, ambitious rich that we can create, won't change any of that.

Virtually all developed countries have more than enough social safety nets, and welfare for the people who truly can't help themselves.

Socialism and communism is all about growing that to include giving everything to everybody, especially those who can earn it themselves. Simply to grow power through dependence and handing out freebies in exchange for votes, or other forms of support.

Marx was dead long before the first Communist revolution. I'm not sure why you're even talking about Marx except that most people are programmed to believe a set of false dichotomies — e.g. capitalism vs communism — as though there are no other options. There's also a dogmatic belief bordering on religious that capitalism is the end all of economic systems and any problems with the economy could be fixed if we strip away all government intervention to get to the unadulterated "pure capitalism" of "unregulated free markets" operating according to a set of immutable natural laws.

This is all nonsense. Everything around us is constantly evolving and there's every reason to believe that global economies will necessarily change in tandem with everything else, particularly technological progress.

In my opinion, with some augmentation to our employment paradigm, capitalism can remain viable for several more generations but if we don't do anything at all, we're going to sooner or later death spiral into economic collapse.

Considering many chocolate factories use child slave labor to produce their goods. I don't think Marx or most people would wonder why production ceased when the slaves were liberated. But hey, you're for the slave masters over the child slave labor, right? As long as that chocolate keeps getting produced who cares about the living conditions or rights of those doing the work.

Do yourself a favor and look at economic trends and social welfare program enrollment in the US from the 70's on. What you'll find is that increases in enrollment follow economic downturn, not the reverse. Excess labor supply only drives down the value of labor, it does not create labor demand.

Businesses are constantly investing in technology that increases efficiency and reduces the need for human labor, not least of which is of course automation but its cousin computerization is even worse yet as the impact goes well beyond blue collar employment. We're currently decades into the process of deindustrialization (hence rust belt cities) and predictably, the jobs our economy is creating are largely in service industries which traditionally don't pay well.

Other countries are experimenting with a variety of programs from universal basic income and job sharing to cutting the work week and I honestly don't know what the solution will be but just stubbornly insisting that everyone who is unemployed/underemployed is a lazy ward of the state ignores the reality of the situation.

The problem is, there are certain greedy people at the top who will take as much as they can possibly get away with (be it through paying their workers as little as possible, charging over the odds or not paying taxes). These people are then able to control the masses, rules and regulations in their favour by buying power.

This has to be regulated because these people are not capable of doing this themselves (they can't help it, it's just the way they are for one reason or another, same as 'lazy'  people, but that's another thread).

If we don't properly regulate and make sure they pay their taxes, pay workers fairly, don't overcharge where will it end? Maybe we should tell all those in full time work here in the UK and still struggling that they should stop whinging and work harder, I mean they could work nights as well, who needs to sleep or see their kids really?

And the pensioners having to choose to eat or heat because the private energy companies have been allowed to overcharge (notice how they will always increase prices in line the wholesale price fuel, but rarely the other way around?) Should they get their lazy backsides back out to work too?

This isn't surprising but great you brought it up.

We are all still slaves, regardless of our background or what we do as our jobs, we earn money to quickly see it float out the window. These rich folk you speak of are actually on an unlimited budget as they do not need to pay for things to be done, they own the very backbone that makes or breaks everything else. They just ask for it, whatever it is. So money isn't really what is used as a status of power, rather a blindfold for us all to compete with. Considering all governments run on an unlimited budget, they can do as they please when they please. Why do you think when war strikes or a missile needs to be sent, money comes out of nowhere for it? It is because it costs nothing to those at the top, its just digits on a screen. However to us, we compete to put food on our table everyday. Egypt and slaves never ended.

There's not enough everything, lol. Not until they invent that Star Trek thing that makes anything out of nothing.

Resources are finite. People who work hard will always earn more of them than people who aren't capable, or who are too lazy. You'd have to build a system no better than the middle ages or ancient Egypt, to stop that. Literally keep the ambitious and motivated under lifetime arrest or probation. And whoever ran THIS system would steal it all just like the "evil rich" under capitalism.

That's my point. At least with democratic capitalism, you have to work hard and compete at the outset to get rich. With collectivism, the ruling elite will end up taking everything through force and never changing government.

So senselessly squandering our resources is definitely the right idea!

Why can't we make most of our products out of hemp?

Enough of that 'hard work' myth. That's bullchit.

Some of the hardest working people I know are on minimum wage.

I love reading comments that try to defend the ultra-rich. As if capatalism can only exist in the most extreme form.

People calling others marxist because they think that the ultra-rich don't need their 6th yacht.

There is no reason people need to be that rich. It's bad for society. It doesn't supress capatalism to have a limit. It's so ugly to see people defending the ultra-rich, while kids work in sweat chops.
