Hi all

I wouldn't call myself a metal fan, i do like the odd band now and again, ACDC, bit of Motorhead and a few others but i wouldn't say i'm a die hard fan.

I have really enjoyed listening to some covers done by metal bands, and also metal songs sung acousticly by other musicians. Watches Slash doing an acoustic set the other day and that was really good.

Anyway i just wondered if you had any good ones to share?

Heres my fave at the moment, a metal band covering Simon and Garfunkel's "Sound of Silence". Best listened to loud.

Awesome cover!

I wouldn't at all consider that 'metal', despite being performed by a metal band, though.

Here's a death metal version of Rebeca Black's "Friday" that's pretty damn funny.

I'd like to hear more of the covers you're speaking of though

That was a good cover but I found it to be more orchestral than metal.

Going the other way round now, here is a more rustic version of ACDC's Thunderstruck

What if what we're actually viewing is the original 'Thunderstruck' and ACDC just totally ripped it from these guys?

Illuminati confirmed!

Try listening to Diamonds and Rust by Judas Priest. I think it was a Joan Baez song. Priest do a really good heavy version of it.

I agree that was something!
I still laugh when the old man tells the story of finding out Halford was gay....

Anyway...something else...I was singing this the other morning, without reason, must have heard it and it resonated with me....

Here you go!

I love JP's cover of Diamonds and Rust. When I was a kid it was my favorite song. I thought Rob Halford was a song writing genius. It wasn't until college I realized Joan Baez wrote it. Even she likes it!
