If it turns out to be a Trump vs. Sanders, it will be an historical election like no other we have ever witnessed and America will take a major turn in culture, economy, attitude, and every other way you can imagine. Of course, the legislative branch will have to moderate, but we are definitely living in interesting times.

I think Trump would be a fantastic job creator. But, too many people now aren't really interested in working. They just want their government nanny to take care of their every little need.

It may boil down to how The People have changed. Do we still have the American rugged individualism that is eager to work, produce, build, and succeed....or, do we want to just let somebody else do it while we suck on the tit of the Big Government Nanny State.

Ideology-wise, it'd come down to;

Do you want to take care of yourself?

Or

Do you want government to take care of you?

Sadly, people don't embrace self-reliance as they once did. People will sacrifice drive, innovation, work ethics, individuality, for government security.

Sanders would win because the US has become a whiny weak victim nation.

(I need more coffee)

I disagree. From my prospective the choose is closer to,

Only care about self and what you can gain.

Do you care about me and what I make?

vs

Everyone coming together to help each other.

It's not "coming together and helping each other" when the government forces you to do it.

I don't want to help you. I want you to help yourself. I don't want to give you a fish. I want to teach you to fish for yourself.

I think we should have a healthy safety net for the elderly, the handicapped, the sick, the mentally ill, children of drug addicted parents, and those that temporarily lose their way.

But, I have no use for multi-generational government tit-suckers.

I believe in personal responsibility. You make individual choices. Then your reap the rewards or suffer the consequences of those choices. If you choose to go into massive debt for an Ivy league education, then you pay for it, even if there are no jobs available to you in the "basket-weaving" major you chose.

I have no jealousies for super wealthy individuals if you got there without fraud, deceit, theft, bribery, or hustling the weak. Pay a fair share of your taxes and carry on.

I want my government to be held accountable. When they pay $5000 for a toilet seat, I want accountability. I want efficiency with the use of my tax dollars. I want real transparency regarding the politicians I have hired. I want to know who gives them money, what they do with it, what favors they give in return for it, and a whole gamut of other things I think citizens should know. The bigger the Government gets, the less transparent it becomes and the more convoluted it gets. The more things get hidden, abused, and misused.

So, if it comes down to Trump or Sanders, I have to choose Trump.

The consummate Capitalist Trump:

I simply cannot understand why people keep saying things like this. Are they not paying the slightest bit of attention?

Trump is most definitely NOT a "consummate" capitalist.

Also, the likelihood of a Trump/Sanders contest is still low.

Sanders still has a big hill to climb.

People are anointing Trump the GOP winner and there hasn't been a vote cast. The majority of Republicans still want someone else as their candidate.

I think Hillary is going to be removed from the presidential race, if not outright arrested. She cannot hold any kind of security clearance based on just what we know now. Why they are dragging their feet on this is anybody's guess. I have my theories, but I'm waiting and watching.

So, Bernie looks like the man on the Dem side. Who else is left? Kerry? Gore? Biden? Would they be allowed to step in?

As far as Trump goes?...I didn't think he would take it, but I now think it's going to happen. He actually is better than he sounds. His NY demeanor needs polishing, but I really think he's the real deal.

The government that interferes the most in my life is city and county. I don't think the pioneers envisioned the day we are told we can't raise chickens in our back yard, build a separate dwelling for family, dictate square footage, raise my taxes every year then give it to Walmart.

When people say that there are those that "only care about what they can have" it means that there are those who care about what other people have.

If you carry the arrogance that you know better than everyone else and should dictate what others should have/earn then you're getting close to what socialism is.

And are you basing that conclusion on objective sources of information? I don't like Hillary much at all but I don't think there is any chance of this happening. If they had anything that serious on her the Republicans would have brought her down by now.

All these demagogues have in their heads an ideal conception of America, none of which resembles the America today. That in itself is particularly frightening. The amount of destruction involved in attaining such a task will no doubt leave the country uglier than she was before.

The problem comes from ideology and perception.

There is the ideology of the voter, the platform of the candidate, and the reality of the corrupt political scene in Washington.

The reality is that nothing will change for anyone for the better regardless of who wins the election.

The theatre lies within the platform and ideology clashes.

It gives the illusion that people are actually doing something and that their elected officials are obeying the people.

It's all a great lie.

Butt it is amusing and it passes the time.

There are a lot of things, but this is not the thread to discuss it. But, they have already found highly sensitive and secret information in her emails. She mishandled the material. I'll just say this (don't want to hijack this thread) but, John Deutch, a former CIA Director during Bill Clinton's presidency, had his security clearance removed for using a personal computer for highly sensitive material.

Hillary Clinton has already disqualified herself from ever being able to hold high security clearances. She has to be removed if everybody in charge are doing their jobs without prejudice! But, you never know what the Clintons hold over the heads of people.

So...that's .... a thing?

Can you show me some? What zip codes do they inhabit? How many are there? Do you have stats and sources to back up your claim?
Should we round them up for you, so then you won't have to deal with them? Poof. Done.

Now - what about all the WORKING POOR, and the hungry kids, and the elderly, and the disabled, and the homeless?
What are you going to do about them?

As for the sequestered offending multi-generational miscreants...... might you consider contraceptives a viable commodity to distribute to them, and their youngsters? Along with sex ed, of course. Not talking about "eugenics", or "forcing" it on them.....nono.

Educating them....helping them. Or, would you prefer that we set them adrift on an ice floe?

Yea....it's a thing. ???? lol. Yes, I do know of people whose families through three to four generations have been on the dole. Your questions about zip codes, etc. are sophomoric and predictable.

If you re-read my post, you will see that I advocate for a very healthy safety net for such folks as you mentioned. But, typical, you latch on to the first emotional trigger like a good little lefty and hyperbolize all over the place before attempting to comprehend the gist of something.

Yes, I would approve a good sex education for the multi-generational "miscreants" as you call them.

Ah! Cool then.

Sophomoric question (predicted or not) got an answer!!!!

Thanks.
So - sex ed is a good thing, then. Thought you'd think so. Just checking.

Queen, I agree 150% with this statement -

I think Trump would be a fantastic job creator. But, too many people now aren't really interested in working. They just want their government nanny to take care of their every little need.

With a business man at the wheel, jobs would be created. .. . Too many however, like the easy way out and will still take gov. Aid over freedom.

It's not about zip codes.

It's about specific partisan voting pockets.
