A man was killed and a woman wounded in a shooting in the outbound lanes of the Chicago Skyway on the Southeast Side on Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.
A man in his 20s was dead on the scene and a 23-year-old woman was shot in the arm, according to police sources.
The man was driving with his girlfriend when they were shot by someone in a black SUV, the sources said.
Emergency crews were called to the scene around 1:30 p.m., fire officials said. The outbound Skyway was shut down while the shooting was investigated, according to state and city transportation officials.
So now is there a gunman loose in a black SUV randomly shooting at people.
Authorities said that before the shooting occurred the people from both vehicles had prior contact.
Police believe the shooter and the victims had “prior contact” before the shooting.

being that it's Chicago and the number of shootings that take place there, i think chances are higher that the shooter and victims knew each other in some sort of way.

This is one of the reasons I won't visit Chicago. Only the criminals are armed.

Armed legal persons across the US have stopped so many shootings in recent years too.
