Do you think it is ok for people to break into property to protest?

Under special situations, yes I do.

Everything is always so cut and dry.

The Gov has clearly overstepped my times, mostly for the wrong reasons.

They need to be reminded that the people are in charge, not them.

They (the Government) don't need to be reminded, they need to held accountable!

So what does your opinion about how eminent domain is misused in this day and age have to do with these guys breaking the law and needing to go to jail when they are done illegally occupying that wildlife refuge and freezing their butts off?

I never made any claims about eminent domain being used properly or improperly. I just said what these ranchers were doing is illegal and they should be in jail. YOU brought up eminent domain as a counter example and I said that you get paid for the government seizing your land. I never said I supported it or anything.

The founders clearly stated many times that when the Gov becomes and acts unlawfully, it is time to be unlawful in your actions as well.

You cant fix a system that is stacked against you intentionally to make it legal for them to get away with lawlessness, by using the legal system.

They have made it unlawful to stop they unlawful actions.

With no choice but to break the law, to stop lawlessness by the Gov, then it is time to break the law, if for no other reason then to let them know you arent going to play they game by their rigged rules.

It is unlawful for you to stop me from taking your stuff so I can get rich off of whats is yours.

What do you do? Just let me take it and screw you? If yes is your answer.....well my friend, you need to find a tyranical regime to live under, you will fit right in.

Anyone else see this comment about Facebook and the FBI trying to keep this from getting out to the public?

It will be interesting to see how this all plays out so stay tuned. Right now Facebook is banning anyone who writes about the Bundy standoff for 3 days per incident, and the FBI Is Attempting to Shut Down All Other Forms of Alternative Media relating to the Oregon Standoff.

Oh I agree!!!!!

If they continue, lynch mobs will start springing up, the people have had enough.

And we still have the ability to resist them guns for guns, and they know it.

It is why they are always after them, and trying to make it harder and harder for us to get them and keep them.

The founders clearly stated many times that when the Gov becomes and acts unlawfully, it is time to be unlawful in your actions as well.

The founders also cracked down on rebellious elements within the new government. Ever hear of the Whiskey Rebellion? Washington marched the damn ARMY into Western PA to stop them and force them to pay taxes.

You cant fix a system that is stacked against you intentionally to make it legal for them to get away with lawlessness, by using the legal system.

I'm pretty sure they didn't even try the legal route and just jumped to the illegal route because they were successful the first time around.

Well you better be prepared to go to jail if caught then.

Like I said, break the law, expect to go to jail for your actions, regardless of how justify you are or were in your actions. You know what's funny about how that Whiskey Rebellion story ended? It was repealed during Thomas Jefferson's Presidency the LEGAL way.

It's called being a realist, but hey, thanks for the ad hominem. I guess since you are stooping to attacking me with petty insults, there is nothing left for us to discuss.

That already happened in 1937. Though -I- try to have that wrong rectified the legal way.

Not a good idea to vote in favor of eminent domain, and especially using the argument of fair market value.

Not to make this too political , but I wonder if any of Trumps supporters know that hes used imminent domain to oust people from their housing and fought tooth and nail to get provisions done with Eminent Domain to accommodate his land grabbing.

Well aside from the teabagger grandstanding in the OPs article not everyone is happy with these hickbilly "patriots".

Oregon judge plans to bill Ammon Bundy up to $70,000 a day for security costs to county.

Uhhh no he didn't. Local GOVERNMENTS used eminent domain to acquire property that they then sold to Trump. Their reasoning was that he would improve the property thus increasing the amount of TAXES that would be paid to the local GOVERNMENT.

a reply to: forkedtongueI'm not a expert on constitutional history but the way my simple mind works is this: The constitution is a box the federal government should stay in! At some point in our past someone, or thing, via war, politics, money, lawyers, and royalty, opened that box and let loose a evil genie!

The public needs to get out of the box, and the government, put back in!!!

Have to wait & see on that? Quite frankly this further ridiculous grandstanding is a direct result of not dropping the hammer on these fools after Nevada.

I get that the feds are trying not to create another Ruby Ridge or Wacko but these guys are morans(sic) with no real gripe other than they want more free stuff.

So far these "warriors" are too stupid to lay in supplies, (twitter begging) & can only think to tear stuff up with a backhoe (in a nature preserve), so they're doing what useless ignorant people do, make a mess of things.

The woman, Vera Coking, had owned property near the Trump Plaza Hotel for three decades, and didn’t want to move. Trump thought the land was better suited for use as a park, a parking lot, and a waiting area for limousines. He tried to negotiate, at one point offering Coking $1 million for the land. But she wasn’t budging. So New Jersey’s Casino Reinvestment Development Authority filed a lawsuit, instructing Coking to leave

Wrong again

Trump:" I'm For Eminent Domain When It's Used To Create Jobs"

So sure you can keep your land or your family home unless he wants to put a business on it

How am I wrong? Trump didn't enact eminent domain, the New Jersey’s Casino Reinvestment Development Authority did.
