I've never heard anyone on this site or anywhere else try to "excuse" mass rape or killing someone over a cartoon... Without being personal, i think it's just an illusion that people with a certain political agenda create within there own heads, as a means of justifying being hateful towards people who are politically progressive.

As a teenager back in the 70's I regularly went to concerts in Chicago. No one ever grabbed my ass. Even back in the 70's sexually assaulting young women was not ok. You put your hands on me in an aggressive way, it's assault.

I grew up south of Chicago in Gary, IN. Plain clothes cops walked the halls of my HS. A female student was raped on the third floor, lots of beatings/gang violence etc. On a crowded stairwell a boy reached over, grabbed my breast. He was lost to the crowd before I could do anything. If I could've, I would've kicked him square in the nuts or if a cop was handy he/she would've dragged him off for me. That's why the SOB did it, he knew he could get away with it and he would continue doing so until he was "convinced" otherwise.

Nipping this behavior in the bud not only benefits females it could save some naive males a severe beating or worse. Lots of revenge crime where I grew up.

If this was "A" young woman being assaulted by "A" young man it might not necessitate media coverage but if this was several young women being assaulted by a gang of male human animals that's another story. Putting this out in the media will make the community more aware.

If this behavior becomes a common occurrence at every event/rally/festival, some might suggest young women stay home, I assure you good western people won't stand for that mentality, violence will erupt. Mark my words the whole place could turn into Gary in an instant. I've been there, seen it happen. Gary was a very nice place before my teen years.

It starts with the most vulnerable of society not being safe in public, young women. Ignore violence and it spreads like a cancer to the older population/children, pretty soon everyone's fair game. Chalk it up to boys being boys but if this is something more, there comes a time when people grow tired of playing victim. Violence feeding violence = Gary.

Gary was beyond hope/fixing, we moved 1000 miles away. I'm afraid running away or fighting are the only options when violence gains a foothold in society. Nip it in the bud or over the long term you will pay the ultimate price. You'll have to leave your home to be safe. Not everyone can afford to do that, especially the elderly. They routinely get abused because they're the only ones left in criminal neighborhoods.

It doesn't matter what nationality of men behaves this way, it all ends the same. I don't see religion, left/right, male/female, I see Gary in its infancy, stay safe.

The brainwashing is so deep all manner of excuses are used. That's when the gaps in knowledge become evident.

I like to see people finding common ground. The British National Party say this.

" . . . it has to be remembered, why these young men are so angry with the West and the EU.

They have seen the Middle East invaded and destabilised by illegal wars based on Tony Blair's lies. They have watched their countries invaded and their women and children killed by air strikes and drones including the USA. History repeats itself and one only has to look at past civil wars to note that interference from the West leads to displacement of populations on a grand scale. In their eyes, they are repaying us for every warmongering Western leader.

I am certainly not defending them but let's not forget the real instigators of this Rape Jihad we see today. Blair, Bush, Cheney, Cameron... "

So when left wingers on this forum and in the media blamed the artists for "provoking" the Muslims to attack or that they "asked for it", they weren't blaming the victims?

If someone thinks this was just a case of a few slap on the bums, the police doesnt agree with you:

"It was so bad the police actually considered doing a gender division of the audience at the conserts"

Taken from the chief of police in a DN article

This IS a growing problen in Sweden and putting on a blindfold and sticking your head in the sand is not going to help.

Of corse we have our drunks and young men who cant keep controll of their hands, every woman here knows that. We have our old pervs with bags of candy, our sex travellers to Thailand etc. but THIS is a brand new, rarely before seen, type of crimes happening in an alarming increasing rate.

It is not only the event in Stocholm. New years eve in Kalmar, many reports have been made from grls who got surrounded and groped, molested and called bad things by groups of young immigrants.

In Stockholm, a public bath house is going to have diveded acces for men and women, only because there have been so many complaints from women and girls about immigrant men who touching them. In many cases the girls are under 15 years old. It is not "a few slaps on the bum" if a public bath house is forced to do this (one can question why men acting this way doesbt simply get banned from ever entering the place again, but if I have to say, pc and fear of being labeled a rasist is one reasone..)

This and taking in account of several gang rapes (yes, Sweds rape too, but not in gangs), rapes inside camps for asylum seekers and the horrible incident last year when a 7 year old girl was peed on when a group of immigrants surrounded her, we must be able to talk about it as a problem.

Not directed at you but definitely at this use of the lefty bashing tactic in general.

I am enraged by this whole left wing bashing, I also do not want immigrant's unless they are genuinely going to face death at home in there own country and I do not want immigrants' whom are going to displace my culture and my children's place in our society which our own forefather's built up for there children not for the children of strangers (but remember they too could likely have had mercy on the fatherless as to do otherwise would be unchristian), sadly it is too late as this has already happened but I am and see myself as a Socialist, call that left wing if you like but as I am also a Christian I have to ask WHOSE left wing

Take the case of Britain and immigration, not unlike France with there Algerian colony we had vast interests in India and Pakistan and even after the end of Empire we still clung to our trading ties to these nations.

Now in Britain the Left have aligned themselves with the immigrant's but how did this happen in the first place, this may enlighten you as it was through Britain, France and the other former colonial power's the mass immigration first began long before the Syrian conflict or the so called Arab Spring which has resulted in this modern tribal migration (it is not a flood of refugee's it is a tribal migration and throughout history whenever this happens the already present peoples are doomed to become second class citizens and eventually be displaced by the immigrant's).

Now forget the Queen for a moment, the real head of the Royal family was non other than Lord Mountbatten the Queen's cousin and he was also the highest ranking freemason in great Britain and the Last Viceroy of India (Ruled India on behalf of the Queen as the representative of both the Crown and the parliamentary government in India), as well as this he was a life long member of the Tory's as well as you would expect, the Tory's are the ultra right wing rich boy's/old boy's network whom run the Conservative party and there interests are and have always only been the well being of the extreme minority of ultra wealthy in the nation of Britain.

During the period Known as partition as the British pulled out of India in 1947 Lord Mountbatten made a speech to the Indian and Pakistani people inviting them to come and live in Britain.

Back in Britain the Socialist labour party was beyond popular as the people whom were still reeling from the war effort recognised that they needed the social reform's which only the labour party would provide but of course this put the ultra wealthy elite's nose out of joint and they did not like it at all, now mountbatten was a terrible war time officer and was responsible for over ruling genral Montgomery's order's whilest he was away in north Africa fighting Rommel, Mountbatten ordered an attack on French port's which Montgomery had cancelled as he had realised that it would fail and of course it did fail with the loss of hundreds of Canadian troop's live's but nevertheless this was not a lesson for a pompouse self preening popinjay and he continued to think he knew what was right even after this debacle.

The idea that struck him was the oldest military tactic, Divide and conquer for were else would all these povertry stricken foreigners move but into the old working class neighbourhood's and run down slum's that Labour drew it's support from and it worked as over the next several decades up to today they poured into these community's tearing labour's entrenched traditional heartland apart and leaving labour with no choice but to seek there vote's as they displaced there traditional votor's.

It was therefore a right wing TACTIC in order to undermine Labour support, they have no allegiance to our nation or our race as they see themselves very much as a superior sub species and of course for the royal family with there horse like features they even indulge in multi generation inbreeding in order to keep there blood lines to themselves and not breed with the COMMON man.

Right wing started this mess, left wing had to take advantage of it while the right wing started to blame them for the problem which they themselves had seeded.

And if you think Mountbatten would never have done this or it was all just an accident think again, had anyone but him invited the Indian's very few of them would live here today but being the head of the hierarchy the old boy network had to honour his invitation.

Back in the 70's Mountbatten was part of a Coup plot, the housegaurds were going to be armed and sent into parliament while parliament was in session and to arrest all the ruling labour party MP's, Mountbatten whom was not an elected member of Parliement was then going to be installed as the long term interim prime minister while the nation was to be put under martial law and this coup plot which was planned and approved by the US CIA whom saw the socialist labour party as a threat was actually already in motion but they found another way to bring down the labour government.

The reason these ultra wealthy felt they were losign there inherited privaleges as Labour made the United kingdom a more fair place to live and abolished the feudal right's which the noble class still clung too.

Now before you think this is utterly irrelevant, have a look at how many royal family members throughout Europe are actually house of Hannover and how many of them are members of the bilderberghers whom pull the string's on all governments in the west and even dictated the immigration policy.

Now as for boy's being boy's, don't kid yourselve's there culture is not our culture it is totally alien, they think of woman as second class citizen's and if they are faithful to there religion they actually believe that they own your land and your woman are there's for the taking because there religion say's so, you are of no consequence and they believe you should convert or die.

No, the police have NOTHING better to do then to prevent assaults on young girls.

Who are you to say what you just said? How bad does it have to be when a girl can't attend a public event for fear of being grabbed?

Tired of Control Freaks

If the police was to arrest every teenage boy that has ever grabbed a girl on her ass than millions of teenage boys around the globe would be incarcerated.

The globe??? Maybe in misogynist countries, but in my entire life, teen years included I never did anything like that and never could imagine acting in such way. None of my friends would do anything like that either.

I'm not saying some teens wouldn't, but to pretend like it's normal is laughable

I don't mean to be lefty bashing. The brainwashing is particularly strong on the left side, I have to comment on that. But I do see the whole situation we're in as being a complex game in which all our predictable reactions are played on. Left/Right is just slotting us into our pigeon holes to make our mass reactions more predictable. I think the whole of our society is run by spooks, and an awful lot of them are disguised as beardy weirdos. No offence meant to anyone.

Fascinating stuff on Mountbatten. Probably had a tapeworm in his brain or something.

Straightforward view from a man in a position to know here.

What happened in Cologne happens regularly in my homeland, Pakistan. The men are never ashamed, never feel guilty, never show remorse about the way they treat women . . .

Getting back to the manipulation of public opinion. This is so predictable. It's obvious assaults will occur. It's obvious punishment beatings will be handed out, sometimes to the wrong targets. Fear and distrust spreads far and wide. This whole thing has to be an arranged conflict.

Education is the key, but how do you educate people like this? Particularly when that education has to be 100% effective first time.

The education HAS to be 100% effective first time.

Here's a development.

“All of a sudden we are facing the challenge that refugees are coming to Europe and we are vulnerable, as we see, because we do not yet have the order, the control that we would like to have,” the chancellor told a meeting of business leaders.

Is this what's next for Sweden? Throwing up the hands and saying we need more control and order.

I don't really care about the political side of this. I don't care 'why' there is war, or 'why' someone immigrated (it's not remotely always directly because of war in europe). And I actually do have some compassion for the fact that even though they have left their homeland, the immigrants do come from a drastically different culture and especially for people in the 11-25 or so age group that is often a volatile time anyway let alone with radical changes like that to adapt to. BUT.

A problem can't be solved until you focus on the problem and not everything else.

Focus on the problems here. Those are:

1. The safety of women, especially young and even children, in public places during crowded events.

2. The misleading-propaganda-nature of media when it biases reporting about such things (such as to prevent immigrant bias). Also, the end-results for a region or country when misleading media cause the people and their politicians to literally make decisions based not on reality but opposite-of-reality.

3. The potential 'rebound' from the native population when that problem is unaddressed. Also, the individual issue of being accosted -- and some of the suggestions on this thread.

1. Citizens must be relatively safe -- in any crowd there is danger but the role of government, law enforcement, and "social peer" society is in part to ensure a place is safe to live and function within. This is not even in question. Whatever needs to be done, will be done, and if officials do not do it, eventually the population will -- and the situation will get substantially worse if it comes to that.

2. It's bad enough media is so far from reality already, and basically chooses politicians and more by their reporting and influence on the population. But when you have a repetitive situation where intentional and specific bias, distortion and suppression and delay are present, you're not just looking at a top-layer coverup: the bottom layer is still 'reality' and the degree of "friction" between reality and presented-reality will grow until politics (or events or both) explode. This is when leader politicians that are lunatic extremists tend to get voted in, because the people feel desperate for someone 'strong' and someone to break through the oppression, the cognitive dissonance between 'presented' vs. experiential reality.

3. A few things.

First, this is going to be upsetting to many people, relax the politics, this is about history and psychology. The (reasonable) knee-jerk-horror about racism means that history does not educate people about anything but the other-side of the argument for the founding of groups like the KKK -- the reasons we get in historical view are those where perfectly nice, normal people of color were lynched by unreasonable psychos for no reason whatsoever except that they just wanted them to be slaves. I think anybody part of such groups today really is a racist lunatic so for godssakes don't think I am defending them here, I am simply trying to "learn from history" because vicarious learning is less painful.

When that particular group was founded, one of the reasons which some joiners used -- and they were otherwise decent citizens and serious about this -- was the context nobody thinks about today. There was this entire population of people who were (understandably) angry in many cases, a lifetime of rage, had no education or job opportunities, the South was occupied by the Northern soldiers who having just won the war basically would let anything go against the southerners as part of a serious hatred-bias the sides had going at the time (people alive after the wars where french/germans were enemies and such probably would understand), and there was a good dose of crime (black on white) and often it happened during travel (stopping carriages in woody spaces for example) or in not well populated areas. Due to the occupied situation there was a feeling of "no justice" and rather worse, there was NO FEAR on the part of the attackers because the Northern presence was causing such reverse discrimination.

There were people who joined that group because it is literally a terrorist group -- that was its primary goal along with vigilante-ism -- and they literally wanted to 'terrorize' -- to strike fear into the heart. They wanted everyone to know that if someone committed a crime that you couldn't touch for situational reasons, if regular justice couldn't get you, vigilante justice would get you. It was, in the eyes of some people part of the group at the time, the only "defense" they had from a demonstrated danger. Local churches would report an attack, including women raped for example, but the official newspapers didn't say anything, the official law was forced to pretend it wasn't happening -- and so the sheriff dressed in a sheet at night and did what he thought he had to because the situation made it seem like that was the only choice.

Obviously, sheer racist criminals were a big part of it too and I assume the entirety of such groups are populated with that now but my point is:

It was the refusal of the local authorities and media (because they were suppressed by Northern presence) to "deal with reality" that eventually drove the locals to vigilante terrorism. (Probably a lot of which was against innocent people, then or later.) It's a horrible thing. Really bad! Really really bad. And these kind of groups tend to be 'protected' by a lot of moderate people who are just fed up with the situation, and driven by crazy dogs who eventually hate everyone.

Recreating this kind of situation, which I see happening, is very likely to recreate this kind of psychology.

Second, all this "kick him in the balls" advice -- really I don't think people are thinking about context here. We are not talking about one on one, near a bunch of protective people. We are talking about sudden accosting from multiple people who are physically attacking you, sexually just to make it more shocking, while another steals your purse perhaps, and they are doing this in part because, for whatever reason (I don't care about their culture, what matters is the end result) they have no respect for women, much like hating blacks or gays or anybody else. In reality, even if you fight back, here is usually what happens:

You kick guy #1 in the balls. He groans and folds, depending. Guy #2 punches you in the head or otherwise reacts to your shocking display of violence against his buddy. Guys #3-7 gang rape you while you are nearly unconscious depending on your location and how they can hide it, beat the # out of you for hurting their friend who by now has recovered and is hurting you even worse, AND they steal your purse. This is the far more likely outcome of that "oh just kick him in the balls" behavior. There is a completely different situation when you are accosted by a group instead of an individual and/or in a large chaotic environment instead of one that is enclosed or familiar. It is not actually the 'wise' thing to defend yourself in that way in that situation -- the wise thing is to get the hell out of that situation as fast as you can. That also means you did not stop to take pictures, film videos, or engage in fistfights with men. Who will win even as individuals 99.999% of the time, never mind as gangs.

The only real solution is leaders not being lying dysfunctional boneheads. Hopefully everyone can make that happen.

Something I've noticed repeatedly that nobody is saying (either) is that here, and incidents in Sweden and Norway, many of the sexual predators are from North Africa. If you eliminate them from the stats, the number of refugees having a free for all with women decreases substantially.

This is a problem that could surely be solved.

Everything has been discussed at this point

Nothing angers me more the males forcing themselves on females. A majestic fire sparks in my chest...

The police attempting to hide informationot, makes me think of what goes on that never gets reported.

Reporting is an on the scene kind of thing, being local, the reporter can write whatever they want to fit the narrative.

This probably happens more often then not.

You didn't finish the sentence... allow me:

If the police was to arrest every teenage boy that has ever grabbed a girl on her ass than millions of teenage boys around the globe would be incarcerated and then they would have the pleasure of being touched and grabbed and groped by guys with absolutely no respect for their person...

Boys will be boys, eh? Fine. If that's what some guys think is appropriate, put them all together (a prison cell works for me) and let them have at it. I'm sure you'll lead the way, right???

I will never understand why people find it so humorous that men get raped in prison as if it's the punchline of some hilarious joke.

Then you add that it's commonly and somehow (albeit rather adolescently) used as an argument against rape of females and you have yourself entering the realm of full-blown stupidity.

Perhaps if we want people to take rape seriously, let's not make a joke of it when introducing relativity and perspective? Is it funny or is it serious? Or just for certain genders is it funny/serious? Let's make up our minds.

I personally think it's utterly abhorrent to wish rape on someone as some sort of punishment, but maybe I'm just missing the really really funny joke here.

It is interesting to read through all these posts, and observe the division of humanity, and how we chose to divide ourselves.

It almost seems as if the common denominator is "boys who grab a girls butt are bad and should get arrested or thrashed."

And I agree with this, however what I HAVE noticed is that no one up to this point has said that, any one of ANY gender should be doing these things.
Strange, because I have read stories about boys being dragged off and beaten for grabbing someones butt, and how a quick kick to the groin is what is acceptable.
I suppose my question is where were are all these saviors, when boys and men are assaulted?
Where are the Knights in Shining armor then?
When I was bouncing at a local club here in Florida, I was ROUTINLY sexually assaulted by drunk girls and "cougars", having lewd comments made, my butt and crouch grabbed, kissed without warning and so on.

At no time did anyone ever jump on the female in question.
Not a single negative word was spoken to her about it, by other women, friend or not, and I was expected to smile, laugh it off and "escort her out nicely" as opposed to what would be expected of me if a male did the same thing to myself, a bar patron, barmaid or waitress. To those men, I was encouraged by those who witnessed the act to be harsh, rough and uncompromising.

I don't think I am at all unique in this scenario, and would be willing to just about bet money that any other Bouncer across the nation could tell you very similar stories, and experiences.

In short many in the thread seem to have missed the larger point. That point is NOBODY should be expected to have this happen to them, and it be acceptable.

It's a lot more than a drunken grab. The videos that have emerged are much worse than anything you've seen as a bouncer. Lara Logan has ben repeatedly hospitalised as a result of her tahharush experience several years ago. If you've seen a bum grab in your time as a bouncer that resulted in repeated hospitalisation years later that must have been one hell of a bum grab.

It turns out we should all have known about this form of assault. From September 2012.

Until recently, the Arabic word for harassment (tahharush) was not used in this context. It was previously known as muakssa – implying playful behaviour by young men having a good time. It was simply accepted as part of a "boys will be boys" attitude, with women and girls having to embrace it because that's just how boys are.

Finally, this social cancer has come to be referred to as "harassment" and the media have begun to pay attention rather than turn a blind eye.

When you are trying to portray serious assault as high spirited fun remember the words, 'repeated hospitalisation'.

The point is not how hard I was grabbed kissed or molested, the issue is that no one cares.
I mean is it okay to grab a woman's breast, not invited so long as you don't bruise her?
Of course not.
