RIP to one of the most iconic, individualistic and unique singers ever, much sympathy to his loved ones. But i'm happy for him that he had a most interesting life, and he will certainly never be forgotten.

He will be missed, and I will irritate my family and my neighbors for the rest of the week by listening to ONLY his music very very loudly.

...yeah...it was awful. I hated it. Especially the seizure dancers. They made me uncomfortable. That and the bandages and weird eye goggles. Definitely not the David Bowie I'm used to.

I actually really enjoy the music, I've always preferred his constant re-inventions of his styles over time. But it's all the more powerful now that he's gone. Powerful in ways though that do make us feel very uncomfortable, perhaps it was his way to get a dialogue going about facing death, an often ugly full-stop at the end of all our lives. The music may take a few listens to grow on you, but the imagery is very difficult to deal with now, I'm not sure what to feel exactly, today's been a very tough day.

R.I.P Ziggy , you took it all too far but you were the nazz with god given azz...

Ziggy Stardust

After a while, Ziggy started to scare David, as he was getting engrossed in the persona. He was afraid that the blurring of Stardust and Bowie would lead to madness, and on July 3, 1973, David did his last show as Ziggy at the Hammersmith Odeon in London.
Bowie later said that his Ziggy alter-ego "wouldn't leave me alone for years.

R.I.P

Just listened to 'Lazarus' , quite spooky co-incidence and a great tune I might add.

I was shocked when I first heard. I didn't know he was ill.

RIP David.

Geez, we're losing all the legends lately it seems.

Spock, Lemmy, Robin Williams, David Bowie... the list goes on.

RIP Ziggy, you made life interesting.

How lucky was I...

I spent a whole evening with him socially in 1978

One of the highlights in my life, a lovely man and super *star*

RIP David Bowie

This news is a bit odd for me. Mainly because I just got back into listening to his music, literally over the weekend.

What a strange yet beautiful universe. Thanks for making it sound that much better Mr. Bowie.

If you believe in forever
Then life is just a one-night stand
If there's a rock n' roll heaven
Well you know they've got a hell of a band...

Gotta be one helluva show awaiting us.

Oh, so that was the one who died. I heard it in passing while I was fighting off sleep this morning and I didn't quite catch the name.

That is news.

The famous crotch from Labyrinth is dead ... and a world famous musician.

RIP Jareth the Goblin King.

Celebrity deaths don't usually make me cry but there's been a few and now another. He was just absolutely amazing.

And these children that you spit on
As they try to change their world
Are immune to your consultations
They're quite aware of what they're going through

I absolutely loved The Goblin King. My own daughter came to know Bowie through Jareth. Such a talent. Gone too soon.

Wow I was not expecting this when I woke up, especially since I just previewed his up and coming album a few days ago.

My favorite.

Your dulcet tones kept me company from my days in my teen bedroom, my university bar, my travels, my loves and heartaches.

Vale David Bowie
