Nothing obsessive about wanting to defeat Isis, Anne! No one wants another terrorist attack to occur anywhere. Either we defeat them or we can expect more terror, more blood, and more tears. And there is no way to know where the next attack will happen unless we beef up shared intelligence and become part of a global coalition in a collaborative effort.

Tell me your plan. In detail. What do you want?

I'm a Globalist, so we agree on the shared part. But, aren't we already doing that?

My plan is to form a global coalition consisting of Sunni Muslims from Jordan and Saudi Arabia and of our Western NATO allies to be supported by strong air attacks over Syria, Iraq and Libya with a proportional number of troops from each such country. Then we need to go in and root out these rats from their holes so we can defeat them. We should also cut off their revenue at it's source and utilize shared intelligence to find out where they are hiding. Finally we need a planned exit strategy so we can bring our troops back home as quickly as possible and not get sucked into an endless M.E. conflict!

A trillion dollars??!!

How do we generate the money for that?

either borrowing it by putting it on the American credit card, or taxing/cutting benefits on the poor and middle class.....in other words, the republican way....geez, I thought everyone knew this.

We seem to be able to generate money from someplace whenever someone like Bernie Sanders wants it for programs that will bankrupt the nation and leave nothing for national defense while, at the same time, crushing our entrepreneurs so they have to lay people off and thus swell the ranks of the unemployed.

The defense budget proposal of a trillion dollars is relatively small compared to the 19.1 trillion Bernie wants for his brand of socialism with little or nothing left for national defense. Everything is relative and depends on what one thinks is important.

Unfortunately we need a large budget to bring our forces back to a level necessary to compete with our adversaries on an equal footing and to allow us to negotiate from a position of strength when dealing with Russia and China. A good start at acquiring the money would lie in eliminating the huge amounts of graft and corruption that permeates our political system and some of our existing programs.

^^ RUBBISH ^^

The "money" to pay for Bernie's agenda comes from taxes generated from a variety of sources:

the 1% who off-shore their wealth (and are not paying their fair share);
corporations that fail to pay a living wage (so that you and I have to pitch in for their food stamps and housing and Medicare);
Wall Street speculators who gamble daily (who will be taxed a negligible and unnoticeable fraction of a percent per transaction) (capital gains will also be taxed, as they should be).....;
and lobbying and special "speakers fees" and campaign 'finance' rackets (like "Citizens United" and SuperPACs).....

Everything Bernie proposes is accounted for. Look at his platform. I mean really LOOK at it. You'll see that there is a plan, and the math works.
Don't be a stubborn troll- look up Bernie's plan, and then come back and dis it. Lord knows it's been linked on here often enough. Time for you to do your own homework...a search for Bernie Sanders' Tax Plan is simple. Try it.

You do realize they have formed cells all over the world and their source of communication and planning is via internet, right?

So, they've grouped in a couple "hot spots". It doesn't mean anything. They're mobile.

This is not a land war. Its an ideology war.

Your ideas are antiquated.

Must be mental telepathy, Buz. I just knew this was coming when I posted about your candidate. Well at least now you know why I'm not a Sanders guy.

I'm sorry you haven't done your homework about what America was intended to be all about by our founding fathers. The Robin Hood Theory just won't work in a country that has its roots in hard working businessmen who were willing to take risks to build their enterprises. They are America's employers. Without them, there would be little revenue with which to run the government because the folks they would have to lay off would be out of the jobs from which taxes are levied. And there would be little or no incentive for future entrepreneurs to try to do it again.

After all the money Bernie needs to finance his programs has been exhausted, who will be left to pay the bills? It seems to work in Europe where taxes can approach 85% of income, but it just won't work here.

And the national debt that we'd have would take decades to pay off and simply would be unsustainable. Not fair to expect the next generation or several generations of Americans to clean it up.

No, statistics really CAN'T be interpreted anyway you like.

There's the correct way, and all the others.

You seem to favor the others.

Thank you; we're done.

1980s strength military should be maintained and support should be former military ONLY.
WHEN the next fake war is created they will draft.China or Russia,MAYBE the Norks.
The entire country needs restructuring ...starting with EDUCATION.

I wouldn't say I am the know it all genius here I am aware of all things military and the fights that have been picked with protests might soon be answered,if anyone threatened MY community with violent activism.
ONE day these asinine behaviors will be only in the blue state urban cesspools that drive them mad enough to think BLM,Black Panthers and ACORN driven ideas ,are real.

Obama was to have met other world leaders recently in a summit to come up with new strategy to defeat Isis following the Brussels Isis generated terrorist attack.

So far nothing.

We can intercept their internet communications with proper shared intelligence in a cooperative effort with coalition partners. First we have to form the proper coalition but Obama just continues to sit on his hands.

Their cells are growing like the cancer cells these barbarians are! They occupy large swaths of territory in Syria and Iraq and they are enlisting more and more recruits.

The only way I know of to effectively defeat them is in the plan set forth in my earlier reply. This may be a war for ideas but they started that war with terror and America and it's allies cannot allow Isis to impose their ideas on the rest of the world. We're not going to defeat them on the internet or by failing to even acknowledge their threats.

Why aren't you over there trying to change their hearts and minds for their countries? If too old then maybe your kids could sign up to go fight for them over there. Rah,rah, go get em. I am sure you can do it better than the last 15yrs of failure.

My daughter is a high school counselor. I resent your interjecting her into this conversation in an effort to avoid discussing the issues at hand. We have an all volunteer army that isn't properly equipped and we have allowed our national defense to be neglected through inadequate maintenance.

All of the above is the fault of President Obama, one of the most ineffective chief executives in American history! He won't help form the global coalition needed to defeat Isis and won't even call them the radical islamic terrorists that they are.

I can't really ask you to look to him for leadership because there is no leadership to be found there!

Just because we have a volunteer army does not mean their lives are less than your daughter's. In fact, because they are a volunteer army we have a sacred duty not to waste their lives on no win wars.

It is my sincere hope that the good people of New York and Pennsylvania will turn out in large numbers at their forthcoming respective Republican Primaries and vote for the only candidate still running who has the ability to turn our country around toward a better future. And that person is Governor John Kasich of Ohio!
