Florida professor who has publicly doubted whether the 2012 massacre of children in Newtown, Connecticut, really happened was fired this week.

James Tracy, who teaches communications and mass media at Florida Atlantic University, was told of his termination on Tuesday night, the school said in a statement. He declined to comment to NBC News, saying his lawyers advised him to stay quiet while negotiating with the school.

So in short, we can loose our job for something we make public that we believe did or did not happen..

I am not agreeing with anything; just putting the paper on the porch..

He probably went to far with the certified letter? or not? IDK...

I just had my "Disqus" account closed for posting irrefutable Sandy Hook facts, funny thing where I posted I had a multitude of people calling me names, and swearing, but nobody could refute what I posted (I won't repeat) and my account was closed down.

You can't say a thing about the slaughter at Sandy Hook, but you are reminded of the slaughter of the Holocaust every month.

He's questioning whether there WERE any victims. Pulling back the curtain and exposing a hoax on the populace doesn't make one an "asshole".

I'm surprised this thread is even still up. This site supports the Sandy Hook Official Story ONLY.

No alternative speculations tolerated.

Harassing the parents of the victims is acting like an asshole.

Only if there ARE real victims. There is reasonable doubt on that whether people like it or not.

Good. Harassing grieving parents is not cool. I think this accurately describes what's happening here.

Second Option Bias

is a well-documented phenomenon among fringe and counterculture groups in which they assume that any widely-held opinion among the general population must be untrue, and therefore, the prevailing contrary opinion must be right. It could be considered a form of "hipsterism" in which it is assumed that anything popular is wrong, but the workings behind the idea are more complex.
Second-option bias is the prevailing cause of crank magnetism and is an important mechanism in conspiracy theories, pseudoscience, and other fields where a person feels their views and ideas are being marginalized by society.

People who engage in the second-option bias believe themselves to be smarter than the general population. For this reason they assume the opinions of stupid people must themselves be stupid as well. Therefore, they reject out of hand any widely-held belief without actually examining the evidence to see if the belief is merited. In many cases, these people were first exposed to a single, potentially legitimate example of a widely-held belief that is actually mistaken. Rather than recognizing that not every issue has two diametrically opposed sides and could instead be nuanced, they instead assume that everything they have ever been taught is a lie and immediately begin seeking out contrary opinions to every conceivable topic. This inevitably leads to crank magnetism, historical revisionism, and sliding down the rabbit hole of conspiratorial belief.

If he were questioning the holocaust he would have been fine. Sadly, our culture now perceives questioning the official narrative a punishable offence. The thought police are alive and well in 2016.

No.

There are boat-loads of inconsistencies noted since the whole thing allegedly happened. Let's no pretend that stuff doesn't exist and blame it on hipsterism and mass-hysteria.

ATS has deleted dozens of well-done threads on the topic. It's FORBIDDEN here, but those inconsistencies do not disappear.

REASONABLE DOUBT I SAY!!!

The lies didn't start with me by any means.

Is the profanity necessary really? Makes you sound desperate to silence dissenting opinions.

Really? I can't remember the last time I discussed the holocaust. It certainly wasn't a month ago. Maybe you should stop frequenting the websites you are frequenting and you won't be reminded of things you don't want to look at.

Sure there is.

Tacts like this are why people do not take legitimate conspiracies seriously. I guess everyone just faked their children being dead.

In the interest of allowing this thread to live on as long as possible, I'll end my discussion with you here.

Jog on mate.

ETA interesting that the loudest mouth against this is still using the word "retard".
